DIRTY, FILTHY, BROKEN, UNMAINTAINED, WITH A RUDE VILLA MANAGER
The 100m+ driveway was un-drivable. Extremely large potholes all the way to the villa. First thing we saw on the way to villa was an overflowing garbage skip which grew bigger till we left 10 days later. On entering the property i was disgusted to see how dirty and filthy the villa was inside. There were no basic kitchen appliances, and we had to borrow bowls from the ground staff's personal home kitchen. The only high chair on site was broken and we couldn't use it. There were lots of mosquitoes and flies. There is no air con in the open kitchen/lounge (sauna); only in bedrooms. There are no shelves for clothes storage; only a basic unstable hanging space. The sheets and towels were stained and looked filthy. Internet didn't work (and we were charged for over-using?!); terribleTV reception with cheap basic broken aerial. Kitchen cupboards hanging off hinges, dirty, filthy, stained leather lounge, outdoor chairs-OMG! doors chipped with marks and scratches, very cheap fittings throughout the whole villa. very basic tub washing machine. Dryer was dented and kept tripping the switchboard and replaced / swapped with another that didn't work. During 10 days power went out every 2nd day. Hot water kept going off, gas kept going out every few days. Air conditioner in bedroom had flooded the floor. Bathroom was infested with cockroaches. There were ants inside food stored in kitchen pantry. One of the baths had flooded the floor - were advised it "wasn't sitting on the waste outlet and Ms Va would move it across to align it". There was an extremely strong stench of raw sewerage suddenly appeared and disappeared in the corridors. The powerpoint connecting the hotwater heating unit was taped with an old tape which was loose which contributed to hotwater outages. when we complained to the villa manager Ms Va, she was extremely rude and challenged the guests. We barred her from coming near us. Spent 2 days cleaning the floors and wiping the furniture. The villa is falling apart, obviously has not been maintained. We felt so sorry for all the wonderful ground staff who had to put up with the rude and arrogant Ms Va, who preferred to gallivant with other guests at her leisure, rather than attend to the problems. We were advised Ms Va had been with the company for a long time, classic case of the boiling frog. Clearly the owners are not interested in maintaining the property. Extremely overpriced rubbish. When we complained to homeaway property manager Taro, he was very quick to take the money, and was just as quick to offload the complaints. This place should not exist and should be shut down. Gives Fiji a bad name.

Nice escape
We spent four nights in the villa - two families with teenage kids. It’s a nice quiet spacious place to go escape to. Staff are divine - so sweet and welcoming. We did the Lovo feast one night which was loads of fun. Overall it’s a nice place - especially if you’re not into rhe whole resort scene and want a bit of room to move. Vuda Marina at the bottom of the hill is cute and great for morning coffee and evening cocktails.

A wonderful family experience
At the end of April we spent 9 wonderful nights in one of the three Sapphire Bay Villas. All 11 of our family from grandchildren to grandparents were there, with ages ranging from 6 to 70. The accommodation had everything we wanted, space, privacy and facilities as well as a beautiful pool. We were never crowded and children, teenagers and adults could all find space to do their thing. We were able to cook our meals and stay comfortably at home when we wanted, or go off to explore Fiji’s wonders. What made our holiday, was the care and attention we received, from Mrs Va and her team, Jope and his 14 Seater van as well as Taro and his prompt and helpful communications. Jope was at the airport to welcome us all and take us to another very warm welcome from Mrs Va and team when we arrived at the villa. We knew this was going to be a very special time together for our family. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. The interaction with the staff provided a unique opportunity to make their acquaintance in a way that would not happen in a hotel/resort experience. We enjoyed it all: the shopping experience, the Lovo, the Chef’s dinner, Schooner trip to Tivua, time at First Landing and a visit to the the local school and village interspersed with wonderful times around the pool and table. This all happened with simplicity and ease because of Mrs Va and Jope and all the others who quietly do things in the background. If you want a special time in a beautiful home, if you want to be located in the quietness of the Fiji landscape with a great view over Nadi Bay, if you want to spend time with Fijians in their world then Sapphire Bay will deliver.

A nice big house for multi-family gatherings with a great view and pool!
The owners / managers of this property do an amazing job of making your stay comfortable. From the staff that welcome you in person upon arrival, to the amazing view and pool that you see upon walking in, to the large rooms and comfortable accommodations, this place is great. The owners / managers, are accessible and can help arrange any of your activities. Great place! Definitely recommended.

The best staff anywhere
Just so many pluses....location,view,comfort,cleanliness,magnificent pool. The staff who cleaned and looked after us were amazing...to the point that I overpaid a hundred dollars and this was returned.Mrs Va,you are the best! Furthermore,we had a leak in the ceiling with 3 days to go and the owner reduced the rate by 50%.Just do not get better than that.Thank you Taro! Tips....visit the Lautoka market for great fresh fruit and veggies.Take your own wine.Rent a car.Day trip on the Beachcomber a bit tacky but the kids will love it. Highly recommended.

Trip of a Lifetime
Well we have just returned after an amazing week in Sapphire Bay Villa in Fiji. The views are spectacular and the villa itself is simply spacious, immaculate and a delight to stay in. We self catered for the week and enjoyed shopping in the markets in Lautoka and Nadi - we also visited the Boatshed for a beautiful lunch one day. On our last evening we arrange for a Fijian Dinner to be cooked for us through the Villa owners and it was an amazing, fun evening with delicious Fijian culture and food to boot. If you are looking for somewhere to switch off from the hub-bub of every day life then Sapphire Bay is your destination. It is set on the side of a beautiful hill side and overlooks the ocean, sitting in the infinity pool looking at the breath taking views are rare to find. The swimming pool and outdoor areas are also great for the family of 5 - we had 1 child and 2 grandparents with us and there was so much space to spread out in the villa, either sitting by the pool reading a book or sipping a cold Fiji Beer! I cannot recommend this Villa enough and the owners could not have been more helpful and accommodating - we will be back for sure and thanks to everyone who made our trip so very special. Pearl in the Pacific
I was lucky enough to stay here with my family. The location is stunning and the villa,in everyway is perfect. The staff are so friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We all so enjoyed the Fijian meal on Friday night " A night to remember" it was great fun shopping locally and we enjoyed the whole experience. It's not far to Vudu Point and the The Boatshed, if you want a nice meal out. Would so love to come back.

Brilliant stay in an amazing location!!
Sapphire Bay Villas is quite a new build consisting of three villas on a hill with breathtaking views of the bay. My family and I ( 4 adults and 3 teenagers) stayed in the central villa from the 24 - 28 Dec 14. From the moment we walked in the door and took in the breathtaking views out over the bay we knew that it was going to be a very special stay. Taro the owner couldn't do enough to make it so from arranging a Lovo dinner on Christmas Day where we had an additional 10 guests to agreeing to us extending for an extra day when we unexpectedly needed to. I have stayed at various other Hotels and Villas over the years and can truthfully say that this stay was truly one of the best I've had with my family. I now know where I will be returning to when I next visit Fiji. The only minor gripe I would have would probably be that there be clear signage to the property as it can be difficult to find if you do not know the way though we solved that the good old fashioned way by asking for directions also be aware that the road into the property is quite bumpy and rough if bringing your own vehicle.

Thanks for the great feedback! We had a blast preparing the Fijian Christmas lovo this year and look forward to doing it again next year. Hope to see you again soon. As for the entrance road, yes it got a little bumpy due to the heavy rains the week before. It was actually just a temp road/entrance that was mainly used during construction. We are currently reviewing plans for our own private grand entrance and road that enters directly into the Sapphire Bay Estate and hope to begin work soon. We are really eager and excited to get this done quickly. Best Regards, Taro and the Sapphire Bay Fiji staff

Wonderful stay in Fiji
I had a wonderful time in Fiji and mostly thanks to the great job the crew of the sapphire bay villas is doing. The villa was quite luxurious and a perfect location for my holiday. While I enjoyed the infinity pool and the other perks of the villa the crew took care of every need I could have had. From an airport pick- up to provided ideas for activities I was well taken care of! The activities were all offered for a special price the villas only could provide and the organised personal chef made my stay perfect with freshly caught fish, sashimi and many tasty Fijian meals. As I spent Christmas in the villa, I had the pleasure of taking part in an authentic Fijian lovo. A special way of preparing food by cooking it in the ground. All this was organised by the friendly, helpful and organised people operating the sapphire bay villas. I can recommend the stay wholeheartedly!
