You can really call this a luxury apartment.Ideal for short term rental in jerusalem Click herefor aVirtual Tour: http://www.pixeet.com/panorama/E9DC769ECEEB15F48403ABCF5637734C What is the area like? You are on King David Street within minutes of the old city, the kotel, and the city center. There are very exclusive shops along the street for shopping as well as choices for dinner at the King David Hotel. You can enjoy sushi at the David Citadel Hotelor walk to the new Mamilla Mall which goes to the Jaffa Gate. All of Jerusalem's favorite restaurantsare here for you to enjoy in one of the best outdoor style malls with unusual sculpture displays and great cafes and restaurants and shops.Virtual Tour: What shall I have for lunch? Try the David Citadel Hotel Scala Restaurantfor a truely 5 star menu. It should be called, 'Up Scala'.The 'Mamilla Cafe'is connected to the new Mamilla hotel but has access from the mall for shoppers to stop by and enjoy a great kosher dairy lunch or dinner. Average price is 40 to 60 shekels per person. A great deal in an unbelievable setting on the mall.Virtual Tour:http://www.pixeet.com/panorama/E9DC769ECEEB15F48403ABCF5637734C Where can I empty my wallet? Once lunch has endeda short walk will take you up a grand set of stairs to the Jaffa Gate for some local shops in the Arab Shuk, the Christian Quarter, the Armenian Quarter and the Jewish Quarter. Here you can try your best haggling skills on items from judaica to flying carpets. The shops along King David Street to the King David Hotel offer some of the best shopping and local artists and art in the city as well as the country. All take major credit cards as well as offer shipping home for those larger purchases. (Ask about the discounts for cash and taxes.)Virtual Tour. Arts and Entertainment? I have lived here for 6 years and I cannot tell you my favorite site so I addded this link for you to peruse and make your own plans.http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Peace/jeru1toc.html Let's Get Practical From this location you can walk to the city center very easily in about 5 minutes. The buses 13 and 18 run by directly in front of the Hebrew Union College to areas further north of the city center and to the central bus station but you can really walk and see many things on the way. You can walk around the corner to Keren Hayesod St in front of the King Solomon hotel and get one of 8 or 10 buses to the city center or the central bus station. The old city is best reached through the Mamilla Mall to the Jaffa Gate or skirt the outer wall to the Zion Gate for the Tomb of David, The City of David and into the Armenian Quarter. All bank branches offer ATMs for cash withdrawals in shekels at the most current rates of exchange. There is an ATM to the left of the entrance to the HUC near the many car rental offices if you prefer to withdraw USD. The car rentals are great but check rates for non Israeli citizens before arriving. You can usually get a better deal on rentals by booking from the US branches, i.e., Hertz or Budget.Cabs are available all day and all night passing by on the streets. Point your index finger to the opposite side of the street to hail a cab in Israel. Decide on the rates before you enter or ask them to use the meter.
