About the neighbourhood
Jutting out from the southern coast of Costa Rica, lies the Osa Peninsula, the country’s wildest and most spectacular region. The peninsula is bordered on the east by the Golfo Dulce and on the west, the Pacific Ocean. It is more remote than other, more developed parts of the country like Quepos, Dominical or Guanacaste. The Osa is accessible by road, an five-hour drive from San Jose along the Pan American highway, or 45 minutes by one of the daily commuter flights. It is more lush and tropical here than in northern Costa Rica with spectacular wildlife, deserted beaches and virgin forests. Living here is for people with a little more pioneer spirit who are looking to co-exist with unspoiled nature. Much of the peninsula is still without electricity and four wheel drive is a necessity here.... more
Getting around
Taxi's are 30 mins away and cost $60 each way so best to rent a car, unless you plan to relax at the house/pool/beaches and there are many Tours/Activities within walking/Hiking distance.

How to get there
Airport: Puerto Jimenez: 12.0 km
Ferry: Boats to and from Golfito: 12.0 km
You should fly from the States to San Jose, Costa Rica. There you can: 1. Take one of the various in-country airlines, to the small town of Puerto Jimenez on the Peninsula de Osa. It's about a 45 minute flight. There you can rent a 4 wheel drive vehicles or take a taxi to our property. OR, you can Rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle in San Jose and drive there. It's a 5 hour drive, but if its your first time to Costa Rica, there are plenty of places to stop along the way to explore other areas of the country. Or, we can schedule a large shuttle van for you to transport your group to Puerto Jimenez. Once in Puerto Jimenez, you can either rent a vehicle or take a taxi to Tres Palmas.
