Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Absolutely perfect for us
Arrived on Saturday 12th August, we couldn’t have been happier. The whole apartment was spotless, well equipped, Tiggy greeted us with a warm welcome. There was milk in the fridge and some chocolate truffles as a treat. The apartment has charm, beautifully situated with a pub and social club in walking distance. We are spending a week here and glad about it. Our host has been so chatty, helpful and discrete, I can definitely see us returning.

Disappointing
The apartment is beautifully decorated and its location is perfect for getting around. Sadly, there were things that spoilt our holiday: The kitchen was not as clean as expected, the sink/plug was stained, there was no bowl (had to use a mixing bowl to wash up and clean veg/salad,) the cutlery was dirty, the oven glove had food on it, a shelve in the fridge had to be removed to get to the salad/veg drawers. There were no sharp knives to sut veg/salad. The cupboards and drawers were in a mess. The bathroom floor was dirty (if you stepped on it with wet feet you woud have black on your soles), the towels were so hard and the bath towel was very small (had to buy new towels to us). The bedroom wardrobe doors looked great but when you opened them there was just a sheet of MDF (1/2nc) that had bowed in the middle and were very dusty, the other wardrobe contained ironing board, vacuum, chairs and other items. The apartment was too hot (the weather was very hot) but there was no fan. The view from the windows was of a garage & shed doors and the drive. The biggest disappointment was that the allocated area to sit outside was a verge on the drive/entrance into the farm (we had hoped to sit in the evenings with a meal and a glass of wine). Whilst I understand that the apartment is used by many people, I would expect a higher standard overall. This apartment was not for us.

I am very sorry that you weren't happy with (anything about) the accommodation. I have never received a review like this before and as cleanliness is an absolute priority for me, I was very surprised by some of your comments. The outside space is not by the entrance to the farm, (which is actually a mile away) but a driveway that leads to 2 converted barns. Clearly, you weren't happy from the outset and as you say, it just wasn't for you.

Perfect!
We recently stayed for a weekend break and loved the accommodation and would definitely recommend it. We visited Cromer and Mundesly beach and although cold we still had two pleasant days out. We ate at the Gunton Arms and Labone Indian, both were really lovely and just a short drive away.

Summer rains
A perfect location and accommodation for the two of us. Clean and modern and comfortable for those rainy days when your stuck indoors. Beach is only 10 mins away. Advice is to book table in local pubs well in advance. We didn’t and struggled to get a table. A beautiful part of England and well worth a visit

We stayed at the above barn conversion in Trunch Norfolk. We had four nights at the above and everything about the barn was comfortable and peaceful. The owner greeted us on arrival and gave us plenty of information about the surrounding area. The holiday was really great and hope to return in the near future.

Great getaway
The barn is ideal for 2 people. Nicely laid out and comfortable. Trunch is small and quiet but a good base to explore the North Norfolk attractions. Local shop very friendly. Vernon Arms best Pub.

Loved it
A lovely peaceful home from which to further explore North Norfolk. Tiggy greeted us on arrival and showed us around, giving ideas for restaurants and other places of interest to visit. We would definitely stay here again.

Mister...
I spent 13 wonderful days and nights at Homefield. I would whole heartedly recommend this as a quiet get away to relax and reflect. Norfolk is beautiful. Twiggy is an excellent and accommodating hostess. Will return in the future...

About the neighbourhood
Homefield Barn Studio in Trunch, North Norfolk, is ideally situated for visiting the beautiful Norfolk beaches, the Broads, the stately houses of Blickling, Felbrigg, Holkham, Mannington and Wolterton, as well as the wealth of wonderful hidden churches, the local market towns of North Walsham, Cromer, Wroxham and Aylsham, and of course the vibrant city of Norwich with its museums, cathedrals, art galleries, shops, theatres and market. Trunch is part of the Quiet Lanes scheme which is great for walkers and cyclists alike and we have some exceptional, award-winning pubs close by too! Mundesley is a pretty seaside town with all the amenities of somewhere larger, ie post office, Tesco Express, pubs and restaurants (including takeaways), pharmacy, butcher etc For those rainy days, the nearest cinema is in Cromer, 15 minutes away. In North Walsham, closest town (3 miles), there are both Sainsburys and Waitrose supermarkets.
Getting around
We do recommend that you travel by car although we do have buses running through the village to the coast and to Norwich. The local trains also serve Cromer and Norwich. We have excellent quiet country lanes to cycle in so feel free to bring bikes too!
