My girlfriend and I stayed here last weekend and from the first enquiry David was very friendly and great to deal with. He met us at the train station and took us to his beautiful place even after a misunderstanding had him arrive an hour...More

We had a 4 night break during the coldest week of the winter so far. We were very comfortable, warm and relaxed in Lothlorien. It's well equipped with plenty of space. The owners were friendly and helpful, but not obtrusive. Grange is a lovely little...More

About the neighbourhood
Holker Hall is the family home of Lord and Lady Cavendish. The house has been described as one of the finest in the North of England and dates back to the 1600s. The Morecambe cross bay walks are held throughout the summer, usually starting at Arnside and finishing at Kents Bank, which is ideally suited for stays at Lothlorien.

Ulverston is a fine market town in the centre of the Furness peninsula, with old buildings and a labyrinth of cobbled streets, and is the start of the 70 mile Cumbrian Way. Ulverston is the birthplace of Stan Laurel, where you can see the house where he was born. Lothlorien is 13 miles away from Ulverston.
Getting around
Lothlorien is 5 minutes walk from Kents Bank railway station where you can also catch a bus to Grange and on to Kendal, Ulverton or Barrow.

The train runs to along the Furness line with Ulvertson less than 15 minutes away to the west or Arnside and Silverdale 20 minutes to the east.

Airport: Manchester : 120.0 km
Grange-Over-Sands is just 20 minutes from Junction 36 of the M6 motorway.

From Junction 36, follow the A590 Kendal to Barrow road and turn off at the Lindale exit. Follow the B5277 through Grange and on past the Cartmel Grange Residential Home on the right. In 1/2 mile, turn left into Kirkhead Road. Follow Kirkhead Road for a further 1/2 mile and turn left into Priory Lane.
