Cortal del Baille is a centuries old stone barn which has been tastefully converted to provide a very comfortable home from home for 8 people. Close to the villages of Las Illas (in France approx 1km) and La Vajol (in Spain approx 2.5km) and only 35 mins from the Mediterranean.

It nestles at the top of a hill from which you look out on to the Spanish border. The barn is surrounded by wilderness, woods and meadow and you can simply walk into the surrounding hills. There is a private pool in the meadow behind the barn with tremendous views all around. A truly wonderful place to experience nature, peace and quiet in the sun.
Cortal del Baille is extremely peaceful and private, indeed the Barn, pool area and garden are NOT overlooked by any other houses.

After a 20 minute drive up the mountain, the old farmhouse and the views were spectacular. A quiet remote location, enabling us to relax and chill with a good book and a pool to cool down in. Many thanks for your review Groan, we hope that you will not mind if we clarify that the village that you mention must be Maureillas - 30 minutes down the hill on the French side, and not the village of Las Illas, which hosts the Trabucayres restaurant and lies just a 10 minute walk down the hill below the Barn....
