The Gables Waterfront Apartment is housed in a lovingly restored historic building on the Russell foreshore. Built on whalebone foundations by Joseph England, a shoemaker, in 1847 its pitsawn kauri walls could tell a hundred stories. The luxuriously appointed apartment is 2 storied, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. 'Reach out and touch the water' views of the bay to Waitangi and Paihia. Last mintue decision to escape Auckland (and the office) and head away for Queen's Birthday weekend. Fantastic location on Russell waterfront, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Beautifully appointed, simply everything you needed for a relaxing weekend including gas fireplace and fabulous kitchen. Would recommends...More
