This spacious dugout suits everyone whether travelling on your own, as a couple, a family, or a group of up to 9 people. No need to share with strangers as it is booked solely as a complete home. Pets are also very welcome however they do need to be left outside on the enclosed verandah. There is plenty of room for parking, even a caravan and a motor home, if you feel like extra space for a while. For larger groups: check out my other dugout, Dinky Di's, which is right next door. 2 b/rooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 6.More

An excellent underground residence- well equipped with comfortable beds, quirky design and a helpful, friendly and accommodating owner (Di). Perfect as a pet friendly accommodation in Coober Pedy and would thoroughly recommend.

So much fun. Great dugout. Big and meandering. Spa, 3 bedroom and plenty of nooks and crannies. Well supplied with coffee, milk some wine and nibbles. Di is wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. We want to go back!

Interaction with guests
I like to greet my guests and familiarise them with the dugout. It also offers an opportunity to advise and/or answer questions relating to Coober Pedy and its surrounding areas. I am also happy, however, to leave a key in the door, allowing my guests the freedom of checking in at their own pace. Comunication is important, just let me know your preference by messaging me with any requests and check in times I live next door so available if required :-)

About the neighbourhood
Coober Pedy is unique, steeped in history of opal mining and outback. As opal capital of the world it hosts beautiful shops, to buy and browse. Learn about opal and wonder at the different styles of mining, both old and modern by visiting mines. Other attractions include underground churches, the famous dog fence, (longest fence in the world), the painted desert, the moon planes and cultural shops. Take the time to check out our beautiful night sky, and a glass of wine or beer at the breakaways on sunset is always a great way to conclude the day. There are also many different tours available to learn of the history of our fabulous multi cultural town and surrounding outback. Disdugoutscooberpedy for more info.
Getting around
The dugout is 2.5km from town centre so you really do need a vehicle to get around. I do have an old vehicle I lend out for those of you coming by air and I am more happy to provide a pick and drop off at the airport, which is 5km from here.
