Cabin -
2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 5
Dalavich, Argyll and Bute, Scotland
Orchy Lodge is a traditional forest log cabin full of character and charm and provides a true log cabin experience. It is situated on a large 1 acre plot in a peaceful woodland setting by a babbling burn, approximately 150 yards from the shore of Loch Awe in the Loch Awe Forest Park. The Scandinavian wood burning hot tub adds to the rustic experience of staying in the cabin. This cabin consists of open plan Lounge, dining area & kitchen, double bedroom, triple bunk room and family shower room. For added flexibility in sleeping arrangements there is a double sofa bed in the living area. We do not allow any more than 5 staying in the cabin. What a beautiful location in the woods! We were so excited to finish our tour of Scotland here to relax in the hot tub and just be with nature. The cabin is smaller than we expected but that really isn’t an issue, the doors open...More

About the neighbourhood
loch Awe is renowned for its trout fishing. Salmon pass through the loch, coming past the barrage in the River Awe and continuing into the River Orchy. Loch Awe contains several ruined castles on islands, and at the northern end has one of the most photographed castles in Scotland, Kilchurn Castle, which in summer may be visited by a short boat trip or by a half mile walk from a small car park just after the bridge over the River Orchy. Saint Conan's Kirk and Chapel of St Fyndoca are located in Loch Awe.

How to get there
A85 Taynuilt
Take the B845 towards Kilchrenan & Dalavich. This road is 15 miles long and single track all the way. Take care driving along it and enjoy the views.
Go through Kilchrenan and after 7.5 miles (it seems further) you will arrive at Dalavich. The site is on the left hand side just before the village centre.

To find Orchy Lodge you enter by the North site entrance and turn left following the road which bares round to the left taking the first left past several cabins up into the woods. The road then goes round to the right and Orchy Lodge is on the right near the bottom of the road on the corner.
