We had a wonderful time here by the loch, swimming, snorkelling and rowing the little boat out across the loch and to the island. There were always a few people about kayaking or swimming which was entertaining while we watched the world gently glide by....More

The main bedroom has a lovely view on the sea, the island and the fields, the beds can either be twin beds or made into a double bed. The bathroom has a bath with a stand-in shower, a WC and a basin. Downstairs you can enjoy a log fire in the large fireplace.

About the neighbourhood
A few miles west of the house you can visit the picturesque Castletownsend, seat of Somerville and Ross, authors of the Irish RM and drive a little further to Beautiful Glandore. Buy a local map and you might like to find some of the prehistoric stone circles. This part of the world is full of surprises and will never disapoint you. There are two markets in Skibbereen worth visiting, one on Friday at 12 noon for home produces and a general farm market on Saturday
How to get there
You can fly either Ryanair or Aer Lingus to Cork where you can rent a car. The house is 85 Kms from the airport. You can also take the Swansea Cork ferry that sail overnight or during the day. Crossing is 8 hours. Other ferries leave from Pembroke to Rosselaere. A 3 hours crossing. To drive from Rosselaere to Skibbereen it will take you 4 hours.
