Myself, family and friends recently stayed at the Jimmy Jammer Sunrise villa in December and WOW, what an amazing place it is. The villa is a great size and equipped with everything you'd need, the owners really have thought of
everything !
Inside the villa are 4 large double bedrooms (the master bedroom upstairs is unreal with a balcony and far reaching views over the Atlantic ocean !) with 3 bathrooms between them. The kitchen is huge with all the appliances you'd ever need there (coffee machine, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, oven, drinks/wine fridge !, drinking water machine, the list goes on......) plus a large dining table. The sitting room is of equal size with plenty of room for everyone to relax on really comfy sofas or huge single seat/sofas. There is a tv with many channels to choose from plus a dvd player, music player, plus really good wifi (the wifi being a massive plus for the 12 year old twins in our party!). There is also a large utility room with x2 massive washing machines and tumble driers (the washing line outside ensures clothes dry very quickly anyway).
And then there is the outside space !!!! Where to start. The view is spectacular ! You can look out to sea for miles from within the infinity pool! The pool itself is a great size and has a seating area so you can sit, read and have a cold drink! There is also plenty of seating outside with a table/chairs and many sun-loungers. The hammocks were an amusing challenge for some of us, but sleep inducing once you manage to climb in. We spent most evenings outside relaxing on the huge sofa chairs which are so comfy, they are great to lie back on and star gaze. There is also a BBQ area. At the end of the garden is 'The Point', which is a decking area with x2 big sun loungers looking out to sea. One member of our party was quite often missing, but could always be located there and declared that 'The Point' encapsulated the whole beauty of a Grenada holiday. The crashing sound of the ocean, the warmth of the sun, the sea spray, the rum and cold beers and incredible views.
Jimmy Jammer is also in a great location! The beaches are a 5-10 min drive away as are some local restaurants, bars and a large supermarket. The SGU University Club complex is a short stroll away where you can get a lovely breakfast/brunch with a view to match. Then just a little further down the road is Lance Aux Epines Beach which is a quiet beach with a small bar which does great cocktails and food. Further along the road are a few nice/easy restaurants (they all do takeaways as well, great for the tweens) and then 'The brewery', a pub/bar which makes their own beer onsite and is a really nice place to pop in for a drink or something to eat.
We drove up into the Rain Forest and had a go on the river ride, which was about a 30 min drive away. This was a ride down a river on a rubber ring per person. The kids loved it, it was very well organised and safe. We were taken by 2 guides who make it a fun and amusing experience. That was just one of many activities and places to visit that Grenada has to offer. The owners have left information in the Villa detailing all the things you can do, from local eateries, to boat rides. We wish we had been able to stay longer to fit more in !
And lastly, watching the sunset at La Luna is a must. Such a tranquil and beautiful location, watching the sunset with a few cocktails can't be beaten !!
Grenada is also one of the nicest Caribbean Islands I have visited, the Grenadians are such wonderful people, always helpful and nothing is ever too much trouble.
There is so much more I could go on about but you need to visit to see yourself. We cannot wait to go back and would definitely always stay at the Jimmy Jammer Sunrise Villa !!
