Lovely gite. We had a couple of issues that was dealt with efficiently. Locals very friendly. Attractions are a good 50 miles away, but the roads are rather empty, so takes no time at all to get there. I would stay again.

About the neighbourhood
Location With varied scenery and a choice of fine cuisine, a visit to Vire has plenty to offer. Vire is a historic town with a population of around 14,000. The town's strategic position in the centre of Basse-Normandy has been responsible for both its rise and fall throughout its history. On our first visit to the area we were struck by the quiet, unhurried and calm atmosphere and were overwhelmed by the friendly welcome we got from the French. This area was badly affected in World War 2 and there is still a deep affection for the Allied forces for the liberation and the sacrifices they made. If you want to leave behind the stresses of modern day living for a quiet and peaceful location then this is the place for you. Vire and its surrounding villages offer all facilities with every shop ...
