Perfect location near to Sulmona. Villa very comfortable and set in peaceful surroundings. Peter and Rita who were standing in for Dougie and Michelle (owners) were excellent and gave us lots of help and information. Also fresh nuts! Would definitely return.

About the neighbourhood
The town of Sulmona is situated in the centre of the Peligna Valley at the foot of the Maiella mountain range. Today the town is also an important agriculture and commercial centre and is famous the world over for its confetti (sugar coated almond candies), and for its goldsmiths. About 10 mins outside Sulmona is an excellent waterpark with shaded picnic area, ideal for a day out. Getting around
By far the most convenient way of getting around the local area & Abruzzo in general is by private/hire car. However, there are good bus & train links to both Rome on the West coast & Pescara on the East coast. Sulmona has a large parking area at the train station & it's totally free to park for as long as you like.
