About the neighbourhood
Dalavich is a beautiful village with breathtaking surroundings. It is set on the picturesque banks of Loch Awe which is right next to the forest. The Burns night supper is a brilliant annual event on 5th November and they Hogmany parties are well known in the surrounding areas. There is a church, small shop and cafe in the village with a part time post office. The social club is very lively with people planning events for the community well in advance. If you don't fancy cooking dinner, walk to Lochviewgrill for some great food and drink in a pub atmosphere.
How to get there
Nearest airports are Glasgow (88m) or Inverness. Budget airlines Easyjet and Ryanair use these airports. Nearby Oban Airport provides flights to the Hebrides and other regional destinations. Driving from Glasgow, cross the Erskine Bridge towards the north side of the River Clyde. Take the A82 road after a few miles (Loch Lomond will be on the right-hand side) keep on the A82 until you reach Tarbet where you should turn right following signs for Crianlarich (still the A82). At Crianlarich turn left towards Oban, turn left for Kilchrenan –(just before the village of Taynuilt). Take the hairpin bend to the left on the B845 towards Kilchrenan. This is a single pass road which will lead you to Dalavich after about 35 minutes.
