It’s a great place from which to explore the historic Galloway region, or just sit back, enjoy the view and watch the world go by whatever the season. Not to mention an ideal location for anyone interested in golf, walking (coast, hill or forest), wildlife, sailing, mountain biking, fishing, horse riding or any of the many other delights of South West ScotlandMore

Lovely cozy lodge, very homely. Virtually everything that was needed was in the lodge. Plenty of parking for two cars. We fell in love with the visiting badgers and birds. Highly recommended!

About the neighbourhood
The region is currently the most heavily forested in the country and these extensive woodlands are central to a wide variety of attractions and activities. The Red Deer Range, The Red Kite Trail and an amazing selection of ranger-led wildlife and natural history events, family days and courses are just part of what they offer all year round. Not to mention the superb forest walks and top grade mountain biking, with several of the Seven Stanes trails within striking distance.
Getting around
Due to the location of the property you will struggle if you do not have your own transport. During your stay there are beautiful walks and the beach on your doorstep and two eating venues within easy walking distance (Barend and Colvend Golf Club). There is also a limited local bus service but to fully be able to explore the surrounding area a car is necessary.
