Stone cottage built in 1862 situated in a pretty Anglo Saxon village. The cottage has views of open fields and river to the front. The oak beamed lounge has a large fireplace with woodburner which heats the water and central heating system. There is a large television in the lounge with soundbar comfy sofas to relax and unwind and listen to your favourite music or watch a dvd. The kitchen is fully equiped and you wiill find comp.tea,coffee,sugar & milk pods.Tea towels and washing up liquid also provided. Upstairs is a double bed and shower room all bedlinen and towels supplied plus comp toiletries The cottage is perfectly situated to enjoy the outstanding beauty of the Wear Valley 14 miles from Durham also a good location for Kynren.

Interaction with guests
The property manager will be there to welcome you and show you how to operate woodburner etc. He will answer any questions re directions to supermarkets places of interest etc. The wifi code is displayed in the cottage and there are tourist brochures for your information. There is also a selection of cds dvds and games . For guests with dogs there are walks right on the doorstep. Fuel surcharge 1st Nov thro 30th April £5per night payable on arrival. .

The cottage was so quaint, clean, comfy and welcoming. Everything you (and your dog!) needs for a cosy stay. Stan next door was so helpful and showed us how eveything worked. We found some wondeful local walks and dog friendly pubs/restaurants. We will definitely return...More

Cottage was immaculate, was furnished to a high standard and had everything you could require. Lovely views over countryside and log burner was great. Stan next door who managed the property was very friendly and helpful and pointed out the nearby walks for the dog...More

Loverly cottage Stan was a gem definitely go again everything you need great area log fire very cosy took our two dogs loved the walks
