Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Needs a damn good clean
Lovely little cottage but very dirty would return but only after a deep clean. No wifi when we were there and advised no towels just before we visited even though it said there was on booking .

Duckling cottage Weymouth
My wife and I both enjoyed our stay at Duckling Cottage, it is quirky and has tonnes of character, plenty of space to relax and excellent facilities, the stair case is a spiral type and definitely a feature, it is a bit tight, but this is not an issue, just had to be careful to to hit our heads, parking is easy and had no issues getting our Focus size car in and out, it is very close to shops, Asda supermarket and the beach, we took advantage of the location and explored on foot most days, and even took the open top X52 to Westbay for the day from the King's statue, we will definitely be staying here again.

Dirty Cottage..
Travelled with my husband, son and mom. Cottage was dirty and dusty....looked like it hadn't been hoovered, the bathroom floor had a large urine stain on it which smelt and rather offputting. Only 1 bed was made up the other 2 beds were left for us to make up. Please note that the cottage is over 3 FLOORS NOT 2 as we were meant to believe.....inaccurate information as no where in the description did it state over 3 FLOORS. I wouldn't want anyone else to get caught out. There is also no where to eat. I understood and appreciate that the cottage is small but more accurate description is need. On a lighter note the location is great and Weymouth is a nice place to visit. This experience hasn't put us off visiting Weymouth..will stop somewhere else. I had contacted the owner but have not received a reply.

Dear Guest Thank you for providing us feedback on the issues raised. I did reply to you personally on the 06th June to discuss the issues raised. I must apologise again for the cleaning and the fact not all the beds were not made for your visit, this was down to poor communication on my part. I can assure you this is not the level of service we expect for our customers and I have actioned this with the housekeeper. I am aware of the floor is worn in the bathroom and looks quite unsightly, We have had logistical problems due to the lack of down time slots to replace the floor and the availability of the fitter; this is now been completed. Its interesting to read your observation on the cottage description, its been on there for over 8 years and no one has ever mentioned the floor layout before. I don't agree we have been deliberately false in the description as this would serve no purpose and we do state in the description that the cottage is quite small and not suitable for people with mobility issues. I will take your views on board and make it clear in the description that the rooms are over 3 floors. Thank you again for providing us with feedback. Kind regards Mark

Warm and cosy
Just returned from a lovely short break in this lovely cosy, warm and quaint cottage. The bed was very comfortable and the parking space was an added bonus we went on walks but loved returning to such warmth and comfort. Mark the owner was very good with communication.

TERRIBLE
I had to buy so many things. We never ate in the cottage apart from boiled eggs in the morning, we felt sick with the view outside the back door. A family of pigeons & their mess all 3 foot square of it (I have photographic evidence) Buy the way I had to buy egg cup,s because there was only 1 egg cup. There was no bins, I had to buy a bin,I had to buy a set of sheets, only 1 bed was made up. I could'nt wait to get back home. (to my minimum wage job ready for next years holiday) you would think for £700 you would get a lot better accommodation.

Dear Guest I must apologies unconditionally for the issue you had especially with the additional room not being fully prepared, This was my fault as I informed the housekeeper incorrectly of the occupancy. We were not aware of the egg cups being missing and will make sure these will be replaced. I was made aware of the nesting birds but were hopeful they were ready to fledge as it would of been cruel to remove them, unfortunately this was not the case and the area obviously became very dirty throughout the week. It has now been fully cleaned and the wheelie bin is now back in action. I hope you can appreciate this is not the level of service we would of normally expect our guests to have during their stay and have made sure your comments have been actioned. Once again please except our sincere apologies. Kind regards Mark

Great little cottage
Fantastic little cottage. Everything we needed really. The only thing I really missed was not having a view of the sea.

Duckling cottage
Very nice place to stay, great location, near to train and local bus services, parking on site. Pillows in attic room could do with upgrading, very clean and tidy.

Duckling Cottage
This was a perfect little base for exploring Weymouth and the surrounding area. The Cottage is a little quirky as you would expect with a building of its age but beautifully presented. Brilliant to have a parking space this close to the centre of town.

Lovely week in Weymouth
Really cute cottage, cosy with everything you need, and immaculately clean and sweet smelling. Car parking space a real bonus. The stairs are very steep but you get used to them. Brilliant location quiet but just 2 streets back from the Esplanade, shops and restaurants and beach a minute walk away.
