Bittern House is a spacious and comfortable holiday home in the popular College Heights area of Weymouth. Conveniently located within a short walk of the sandy beach, bird reserve, harbour and town centre.

The kitchen has recently been refitted and is well equipped.

The main Bathroom, en-suite shower-room & downstairs toilet have all been completely re-furbished recently.

About the neighbourhood
Bittern House is within comfortable walking distance of the town centre and most of Weymouth's amusements.
There is a Sea Life Centre, fairgrounds, trampolining on the beach, pedalos, ballpark, multi-screened cinema and theatre. In the summer there are donkey rides, Punch & Judy shows and sand sculptures to be seen and enjoyed.
The harbour and Brewers Quay are interesting to walk around and soak up the atmosphere, stopping for a coffee or a drink in one of the many hostelries. You can fish from the quay or crab fish from the rocks near Nothe Fort. There is a wide choice of restaurants and takeaways to suit all tastes and budget.
Weymouth is on the Jurassic Coast and has two RSPB bird reserves, as well as others a short drive away.
Getting around
With a car, take a trip to the beautiful Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Corfe Castle with its renowned model village, Swanage for a steam train ride, Lyme Regis, the Swannery at Abbotsbury - not forgetting nearby Chesil Beach and on to Portland with its quarries, lighthouse and some rarer species of birds.

The mainline train station is a few minutes walk from the house. Weymouth also has bus services to Dorchester, Poole, Bournemouth, Bridport and Salisbury.

There is a daily ferry from Brewers Quay to Portland and cruises along the Jurassic Coast.

Dorset has one of the largest swathes of conservation area in the country open to beautiful walks and cycle rides, including the famous coastal path.

Railway: Weymouth: 1.2 km
Getting to Weymouth by car.
Follow the A354 from Dorchester
On reaching Weymouth, follow the A354 through various roundabouts towards Town centre/Portland until you reach a large intersection with traffic lights called Westham Cross Roads etc etc (pick up from end of previous).
Turn right at these traffic lights.
You then take the first right into ALMA ROAD and follow along past the older houses into the gated community of College Heights (not signposted).
Bittern House 39 Alma Road is the first house on the left after a small block of four maisonettes.

The mainline train station from Waterloo is a few minutes walk from the house.
