Lovely property and good location
This property was lovely and clean when we arrived, very cosy and like a home away from home. Owners added nice touches such as bottle of milk and some biscuits, always welcomed! Property is located on a quiet street and is a 2 minute walk to Peasholm Park which is fun to explore. One negative was the shower in the ensuite was way too hot whichever way you turned the temperature dial... Overall would stay here again if we were visiting Scarborough and would definitely recommend 👌

The Lantern
What a great place to stay, the house is absolutely spotlessly clean, very modern and well equipped with everything you would ever need while on holiday. The Ideal location for walking around Scarborough or visiting resorts around the local area such as Whitby and Bridlington. What ever you do, don’t forget to try Fish and Chips from the the North Bay Fish and Chip shop just around the corner, the best cod I have ever tasted. Highly recommended.

Well appointed house
The location of the house is perfect ,it is next Peasholm park which has many attractions, there is boating on the lake with pedloes, canoes and rowing boats plus there is naval warfare enactments in the afternoons on the lake. There are two golf attractions a small putting green plus a larger pitch and putt and also places to get refreshments. The beach is under ten minutes walk away with refreshments next to the beach this is also where you can catch the bus into the South Bay which has lots to offer for adults and children, we purchased a bus ticket for £11.50 each which covered us for the whole week

Lovely property well located
The Lantern is a very nice house, tastefully decorated, spacious and well equipped. It is well located for both the North and South Bay. We stayed for 3 nights just after New Year, 2 adults and 3 children 11,9,9 and didn't need to use the car once.
Although overall we enjoyed our stay, for us there were two things that meant it wasn't as comfortable as it could have been. Firstly we found the heating a problem. The upstairs radiators do not have thermostats hence when the downstairs was a comfortable temperature the upstairs was far too hot to sleep in. This wouldn't be such an issue for all adults going to bed at a similar time, but having put the children to bed early eve, we had a battle on trying to keep their rooms cool, opening windows and covering the radiators with lots of towels, which was such a waste of energy. Our girls in the back small room were the worst affected with the second front bedroom not being as bad. On the second night we turned the heating right down earlier to combat this but as such it affected the temperature downstairs. Additionally in the master bedroom (where the boiler is located) the heating was roaring like a 2 litre Audi st 5am and we were baking hot - all windows wide open again!! At times it was so hot it affected the water temperature which was only tepid. We had one nice hot bath over the three nights and turned the heating off at the boiler in order to get water hot enough for a bath. There are two decent showers btw!!
The other thing was the comfort of the beds themselves. We knew ours would be a squeeze - we're used to a superking, my hubby is 6'3 - but in addition we felt the mattresses were due a revamp and we found the bed really uncomfortable. Our girls both complained about the bunk bed in the back room too however our son in the front bedroom never complained! Maybe this is just our taste but unfortunately we got so little sleep over the stay we would not book again. Shame as otherwise, the property suited our family perfectly.

Great Christmas break with the Family
A lovely rental accommodation. Plenty of space in the property and parking is not a problem as one space for off road parking and they leave you permits for on street parking as well. The only downside is the lack of outside space just a courtyard with large table and six chairs.

Excellent 3G Holiday Home
This was our third stay at one of Paula and Mark's properties. The others being The Belfry and The Steeple. All three properties are to the highest of standards. The cleanliness is to be commended. They really are a home from home. You can just unpack your suitcase and start your holiday. The Lantern is a bright, welcoming house. We loved many of the rooms, even the staircase and it's gallery, where in the mornings it greeted you with a flood of light, which was stunning on a sunny day. The only recommendation we would make would be for there to be storage in the third smaller bedroom, accommodating the double and single bunk bed. There appears to be ample space for this behind the door. Although there is hanging facilities in the storage cupboard outside the bedroom on the landing, it was not really convenient to use. We would highly recommend any of the three properties. We had a fantastic 3G holiday in The Lantern, thank you once again to Paula and Mark for their contribution in another fantastic stay in Scarborough.
