The pics are charming
The place looks beautuful. However, it is more facade. The coach is extremely uncomfortable, same about the bed.
The place is pretty dirty (and I am not talking about the dust that comes with centuries of wisdom because it is an old farm), I am talking about being dirty under the coach (we even found a sock 🤣). Also, the place is pretty noisy since it goes directly to the street, nothing you can do about that, but it is better to know in advance.
So as I said, it looks very pretty but it’s not comfy.

About the neighbourhood
Roam is based in Xewkija with a choice of two supermarkets just a few doors up and several bus stops nearby. You can park right outside for free. If you're feeling peckish, check out the pizzeria and quaint family run bakery just up the road too! Being centrally located, you can conveniently travel to any of the desirable locations on the island in just a 15 min drive. Although do not rush out of the village too soon as Xewkija has a lot to offer. The village has a population of a little over 3,000 and is the oldest on the island, remaining relatively untouched. Take a walk to admire the beautiful farmhouses, incredible architecture and charm that rings throughout the town. Roam is just a 5 min walk away is the famous Xewkija Church.
Getting around
We always recommend guests hire some sort of transport for their stay, but if you're not comfortable with that then no problem whatsoever. The Roam residences are all central on the island with bus stops right outside. ITs only a short walk of 15 mins into the city centre of Victoria where you can get to the main bus stop which can take you to every village on the island.

How to get there
I've detailed out below the options for travelling to the property from Malta Airport. The total transfer time is approximately 1-3 hours depending on which route you take.
The quickest way to get to Gozo would be the new fast ferry service from Valletta. You can find their timetables on the "Gozo fast"; or "Virtu ferries gozo" Facebook or websites. If you plan to take the slower ferry service which accepts cars then please follow the instructions below.
BUS ROUTES
From Malta airport, you can get the X1 bus (leaves every 45 minutes) direct to Cirkewwa ferry port. Approx. 1.5 hours and costs 2 euros.
You can then board the ferry on foot straight to Gozo, and this journey is free! (Return journey is 4.65 euros each). This journey is 25minutes.
From Mgarr Harbour ferry port in Gozo you can get the 323 bus which goes through the village of Xewkija. The closest bus stop to the property is "Kraba". 15 min journey.
The property is then a 2 minute walk away. I would recommend Google Maps to locate the property.
CAR HIRE
You can hire a car from Malta airport, which is approx. 30 minute drive to Cirkewwa ferry port, following signs to "Cirkewwa" or "Gozo"
You can drive onto the ferry directly, free to travel across to Gozo, approx. 15 euros to return to Malta (depending on number of car passengers).
From Gozo ferry port, the property is approx. 10 minute drive and there is plenty of parking available.
TAXI
Taxi's can be hired from Malta airport to Gozo ferry, and they charge approximately 35-50 euros depending on the number of passengers.
Taxi's are accessible from the taxi rank in front of Gozo ferry port to the property, and they charge approx 15 euros to Xewkija.
