Interaction with guests
We live in a cottage across the court yard from your apartment. We provide detailed written information about the operation of appliances and technology. You have your own keys and a separate entrance - so you can come and go and be completely independent, if that is your wish. if you want to 'meet the locals' we are equally happy to share coffee and to talk about what there is to see and do nearby.

We stopped here for a night traveling North and were very impressed by the accommodation and facilities. Beautiful, clean, comfortable, and a gorgeous view of the gardens. We had a lovely time and will stay for longer next time.

About the neighbourhood
This is rural New Zealand at its best - a place to catch your breath and relax into country life. Kiwitea is just 15 minutes to a pretty market town, 30 minutes to a provincial city. The vistas are of rolling pastures grazed by sheep and cattle. The skies are big and deciduous trees provide seasonal colour contrast to lush grasses.
You can chill on a big sofa, stream something on wifi and let the world go by OR - bring walking shoes, water bottle and a day pack for hiking; your bike for both tarmac and gravel road circuits. It's a popular area to explore on a harley, or in either vintage or sports cars.
