Simply gorgeous for Romantic Breaks as you'll be delighted with the ambience, wood burner and the personal touch. The cottage has been completely refurbished with new kitchen, bath/shower room, solid oak floor throughout, lush Scottish soft furnishings and Scottish art. If you enjoy any of the following then Kestrel is for you: cycling, mountain biking, walking, hiking, wildlife watching, golf, running, fishing, sightseeing, views and of course relaxation. Kestrel is set in 4 acres of formal gardens and is one of three self catering cottages at Nether Glenny. The owners house is also situated in the formal gardens. Guests are made to feel very welcome and given peace and privacy. The kitchen is well equipped for you to prepare a lovely meal and the dining table has ample space for up to 4 guests. There is fine lakeside dining nearby and several dog friendly pubs which have delicious menus. If you'd prefer to stay at home then why not try something from our popular ' dine in ' menu which sources ingredients locally to bring you a truly authentic Scottish experience. Nether Glenny farm offers unique experiences as well as luxury accommodation; guests can enjoy Target Shooting or an off road Kawasaki Mule Farm Tour with Local History Talk where you can get up close and personal with our herd of Highland Cows as well as enjoying incredible views and learning about our local heritage. In addition Nether Glenny overlooks the Lake of Mentieth so if you are an experienced angler then our guests can rent the boat and have private use of the boat house. If you need more space or would like to bring your dog then please do take a look at BuzzardMore

About the neighbourhood
Kestrel cottage is located in the Menteith Hills and overlooks the lake of Menteith. It's a perfect location for nature lovers and guests who would like to be active during their stay. Open the door and hike into the hills! Enjoy days out further afield such as St Andrews, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Oban and Glencoe. Guests tell us they don't have enough time to do everything so they come back year after year. Take your pick from Go Ape ( High Ropes/ Zip Wire experience ) Go Country water sports, high quality dining nearby, country pubs, lochs, castles and tourist shopping.
Getting around
We highly recommend that guests have a car. There is a great taxi service that nips up and down the hill for our guests regularly. Going to Edinburgh ? We recommend that you use the Park and Ride from the airport.
