Private Room , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 2
Inverness, Scottish Highlands, Scotland
Seòmarbrèagha is located in a garden suburb of Inverness, with its very own secret garden and patio at the rear. As soon as you step through the front door, the open space of the library/conservatory will take your breath away, with its striking, high ceiling, large windows and book shelves that line the wall, from top to bottom. The stylish, minimalistic décor continues throughout the interior of the house. The open plan living and dining space is great for socialising, with the kitchen just next door, where I prepare your breakfast to order, from a choice of seasonal smoothies, cranachan, omelettes, full Scottish, and kedgeree, all made with locally sourced ingredients. There is also an evening chef’s table for 2 to 6 guests, where you can enjoy a traditional taste of Scotland.

One thing to take note: The bathroom is shared with one...

About the neighbourhood
If you are looking for an unforgettable Scottish touring holiday that takes you through the stunning Highlands, the North Coast 500 route is for you, and it begins right here in Inverness.
Start your day by heading off towards Beauly, visit the ruins of Beauly Priory, where the French Monks who lived in the area named it “Beau Lieu”, Beautiful Place. Have a break at the Cafe on the Square, and shop at Campbell’s of Beauly, which stocks a lovely range of knitwear and tweeds.
After that, why not enjoy a tour of the Glen Ord Distillery in Muir of Ord, only a few miles from Beauly. Glen Ord Distillery was founded in 1838, making it one of the oldest in Scotland.
This takes you practically to the Black Isle, my favourite place ...
Getting around
But before you begin your North Coast 500 journey, there are a number of archaeological and historical sites to visit around the area. In fact, you may even wish to have an extra day to explore these places.
Immerse yourself in the mysterious Clava Cairns, a Neolithic burial place, and which may have been the inspiration for the “Outlander” television phenomenon!
Then visit the Culloden Battlefield and Visitor Centre, site of one of the most famous and tragic battles in British History, which saw the courageous and loyal Jacobites wiped out by the English.
A visit to Inverness would also not be complete without a trip to Loch Ness ...
