Directions and entry information are provided at the time of booking so guests can arrive at anytime after the entry time of 3pm without needing to arrange a specific time to meet to pick up keys etc. However if guests would prefer to meet the owner and be shown around the property we are more than happy to do this. We take a hands-off approach and allow guests to get on and enjoy their stay but if guests need help or advice we are on hand to help as required.

Lovely house in a great location. The house was cosy and the tea and milk that was there when we arrived was really appreciated. Only little quibble, was that the stairs were very steep not ideal if travelling with elderly or very young kids.More

Getting around
A regular bus service to Edinburgh runs from outside the Post office at the top of the Northgate. This service also runs in the opposite direction to Galashiels and Melrose

There is a park and ride service for Edinburgh at Straiton on the south side of Edinburgh

Good central parking in Edinburgh is available at the Radisson Hotel on the Royal Mile

The Northgate is a one way street and accessed off the High Street.
From the North and East - drive along the High Street and turn right onto the Northgate after memorial in the middle of the road - you will see Costa Coffee on the opposite corner
From the West - drive along the High Street and turn left onto the Northgate after Costa Coffee
No 63 is on the left hand side of the road opposite the memorial garden and towards the end of the Northgate. It has a black front door.

Parking: there is restricted on-street parking outside the property but unrestricted parking beyond the end of the Northgate 15 meters away.

A regular bus service to Edinburgh runs from outside the Post Office at the top of the Northgate.
