Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Good location
Ideally located as near to many walking areas. Cottage was clean and comfortable. Small kitchen but had everything you need. Bedroom satisfactory. Bathroom very tired and in desperate need of updating. Mould at the bith corners of the shower screen and corners of the bath which was very off putting. Central light only one bulb working and wall lights also not working making bathroom very dim, partner couldn't see to shave. Cottage advertised use of washer and dryer. No times specified. A fleece throw from the cottage had a stale greasy smell therefore thought rather than complain I would wash it on a quick wash. It was a sunday morning and 9am when I put it in the washer. On going to check the washer later the owner told me he wanted the washer as it was change over day! I stated to him that it was actually the throw from the cottage as it smelt stale. He made a tutting noise and stated he would have to take it out. I didnt say anything and left him to it thinking he would sort it out. He never brought the throw back which I thought was really rude as he should have washed it in the first place. I would advise that he indicates to renters what time the washer etc can be used as currently there was nothing that stated not to use it during certain times. As far as I was concerned this washer etc was for guests not the only washer for the business.

Thank you for submitting a review. I am sorry it has taken so long to reply but we weren't notified of a few reviews from last year by the Tripadvisor system which was faulty. To answer a couple of points you made after your stay. The washing machine and dryer is for use of the whole site but I wouldn't expect somebody who had just arrived at the site to need to use a washing machine. The throw had been washed before your arrival so didn't need washing. Paul was a little insulted that you stated the throw wasn't clean. When Paul met you on site you stated the throw had an oily smell, having thought about this since the only explanation of an slight oily smell could be from the special oil used to regularly treat the leather sofa's. Once he had completed using the washing machine and dryer that morning to wash bedding and towels for a change over on that day the throw was put in the dryer for you and left by the washing machine for you to collect where you had left it. We don't provide a laundry service for guests during their stay and due to keeping strictly to Covid restrictions we aren't allowed to enter the guests property during a stay. It would be impossible to provide guests with certain times the washer and dryer will be available but it can be used anytime it isn't in use by somebody else. But this is so you can wash and dry your own clothing, not something that isn't yours and has already been washed the day before. To clarify for any future guests reading this reply, the bathroom is fitted with a modern white suite and good shower over the bath and not isn't very tired ( obviously wasn't to this guests taste ) . Paul had bought a new shower screen to replace the old screen at the start of the season but because of being unable to access our own site between March and July because of Covid restrictions and then being fully booked with no spare days allowing access to an empty property from July to October this work couldn't be done. Except for cleaning between stays any other internal issues sadly had to be left. All our cottages were given an exceptional clean before guests arrival because of extra Covid requirements. The mold you mentioned in the Bathroom was where the old shower screen fitting was fixed to the wall and the small area which looked like mold and couldn't be cleaned off was sealed over with a clear sealant which has now all been replaced together with a new shower screen fitted. I am sorry about the issue with the Bathroom lights, the previous guests had broken off the pull cords for the wall lights which happens regularly and they failed to report this to us to give anytime to find replacements . However if you had mentioned one of the light bulbs from the central light fitting also stopped working during your stay, we would have been able to replace this for you with your permission from the store of spares we have on site. In future if you have any issues with Holiday accommodation I would advise you bring these up with the owners face to face at the time so they have a fair chance to reply and can try to put things right if possible.

Rural retreat in superb situation
A cosy and comfortable cottage. Devil's bridge falls (not to be missed) just two minutes walk away and superb Rheidol steam railway just a five minute walk. Paul, the owner, very friendly and helpful with advice for walks etc. Wonderful balcony opposite to sit and have your coffee. Don't miss the Aberystwyth museum in the old Colloseum cinema or the cliff railway.

Beautifully renovated cottage in superb location.
We had a wonderful week in this lovely cottage which is perfect for two people. Decor and facilities were all excellent and we loved the little decking area which allowed us to sit and watch the birds and enjoy the wonderful views. For those who want peace and quiet but also want to explore the countryside it is ideal. The Druid Inn is also worth visiting, both for its beer and food.

Devils Bridge Comfort & Convenience
We were met at the door by the owner who showed us the features and comforts of the cottage. This barn conversion has been stylishly performed with soft carpets and leather armchairs. The central heating is more than adequate, and the kitchen cosy but easy to use. The laundry facilities are conveniently located and a big plus for travelers. The view from the lounge room is over the gorge to the hills beyond. I recommend the local Haford Hotel, which is only 50 metres away. We really enjoyed our home away from home.
