Holiday Rental House
Our delightful 19th century cottage offers a cosy retreat and has a wealth of comfort and character. It is situated at the heart of the tiny secluded village of Clifford Chambers with its 20 mph limit no through road and with the peaceful winding River Stour and elegant Manor House nearby. It is thought by some that the Old Rectory in the village was Shakespeare’s real birthplace. Why not book for a special weekend - we are happy to supply extra personal touches. The beamed living/dining room with terracotta tiled floor has a large inglenook with log burner, Freeview TV, free WiFi, a small DVD collection and range of reference books. A small step up leads to the snug, a room for rest and recuperation and the home of part of the owners’ personal library. A door from the snug leads to the attractively tiled terracotta courtyard with table, chairs and a barbecue. At the far end of the courtyard is the tiny laundry with washer/dryer (and outside line) and the rear door. There is a neat well equipped fitted kitchen with terracotta tiled floor, cooker, microwave oven, fridge and large freezer. Shallow stairs lead to the very large, light, south-facing beamed double bedroom with large wardrobe and chests of drawers on the original polished elm floor. The bedroom overlooks the historic wide village street and ancient cottages. The bathroom has a clean white suite, bath with hand shower attachment, toilet and sloping ceiling. Courtyard Cottage is a starting point for many pretty scenic walks and yet is just a few minutes by car and only 40 minutes on foot by footpath to Stratford-upon-Avon. Bikes may be stored safely in the courtyard. There is a small private parking place off the lane to the rear of the cottage but also ample street parking in the village with no restrictions. We are always happy to provide for your individual requirements for an anniversary, birthday, romantic weekend or other special occasion. Why not use Courtyard Cottage as your perfect base for a visit to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre? There are some wonderful productions this year. Waitrose supermarket only ½ mile away and village pub serving food 200 yards. Wood burner with initial basket of logs included but you will need to bring firelighters and matchess All white bed linen and towels are provided. Electricity, full gas central heating and free WiFi included. A travel cot and high chair are available in the cottage. Sorry, but strictly no smoking and no pets. Please note we never allow animals in any of our properties; it is not that we do not like them but are aware that many people have allergies and may not welcome lingering doggy odours. Although we are relatively new to TripAdvisor, we have successfully been accommodating appreciative guests from all around the world at Courtyard Cottage for about ten years. More

A comfortable and well-presented cottage in a quiet village on the outskirts of Stratford-upon-Avon. The owner kindly provides a "welcome" bottle of white wine and there is an interesting range of books to browse through, both contemporary and vintage editions. The cottage features a well-equipped...More
