Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Meh.
On entering the grounds, there was no one to welcome us. We did have the key code so just let ourself in. The old stables had what only looked like squashed bugs all over different parts of the walls and calling. It’s in desperate need for a paint! The bed was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was fairly clean but very small, but it was enough for what we needed. We did try to do some cooking in the kitchen provided; but the any slight bit of steam from the pans set the fire alarms off, even with all windows open. Our first morning we was woken at 8:30 by someone banging on the front door; we opened the door and a man presented himself, did not introduce who he was, but told us we were not allowed to park where we were, so we moved the car. The man was very rude and did wake us up. The son of this man did come to apologise, but unfortunately we were already up and had a bit of a rubbish start to the morning. We spent most of our time away from the old stables as we didn’t feel welcome at all. The old stables is close to the tor, so we did walk up that. Our further 3 days of the trip we spent in bath, cheddar gorge, and Longleat safari. We “checked out” at 9:55. Still nobody around to give keys to or say bye. So we put the keys back in the locked box and left. Overall, the old stables itself just needs a paint and someone to look at the cooker; other than that, it was what we needed to sleep there. It wasn’t a welcoming vibe. We did receive an email from the old mans son after we left apologising for actions of his father, which was a nice thing to do. Probably wouldn’t stay again if we was in the area as we look for more of a friendly environment. This accommodation is perfect to people who like to be left alone. I do recommend a trip to bath if you do stay in the area.

Thank you for the review, we are sorry that you did not feel welcome. I am a little confused about you saying you were not greeted as I came out personally the day you arrived and spoke with your husband and indicated where you could park the car, clearly there was a misunderstanding when you instead parked on the shared garden area which led to you being rudely woken up in the morning which I am sorry for, my father is retired and no longer has anything to do with the business as I had mentioned so it should have been me you had dealt with (I do not beleive he realised the time). As far as the cooker thank you for letting me know I will get this resolved promptly. The cottage had been painted in the winter but during the summer months when the bugs are out it can cause the paint to look old. That will all be rectified this winter when we renovate the whole cottage though. Sorry again you had the problems you did and thank you for the feedback, I can now make sure these problems are addressed and no one has the same problems again. As far the smoke alarm you are first to mention that problem so I will look into it and see what I can do to fix it. Kind Regards, Edd and Kim

Comfortable and friendly
Really nice little place to stay in. All open plan so feels roomy inside and has a lovely feeling to the place. Owners were very welcoming and accommodating to our needs. Place itself was warm and cosy and we particularly liked the heated floors!

Great location,very comfortable.
This little building is like the Tardis! It feels so much bigger once you are inside. We liked the ready access to Glastonbury Tor, just up the lane, 15 minutes to the top. We also cook for ourselves and enjoyed the full sized oven and plentiful utensils. Easy parking and calm atmosphere. We shall be back.

Lovely experience
Close to Glastonbury and the Tor ( we could hear people talking on the Tor from the garden!). The Tor bus stops at the top of the road so we used it to go to and from Glastonbury. Great accommodation. Very clean and spacious. Will be returning often. Jim made us feel very welcome.

Convenient for the TOR
We stayed here whilst attending a permaculture course at Compton Dundon. The Tor is within short walking distance - went twice in one day. The memory foam bed was very comfortable & the lounge spacious. Best of all it's dog friendly & our two dogs loved it.

Normal

Disappointing and certainly not worth the money.
Firstly the description of the property is a little misleading in as much as it is actually a converted garage and has no resemblance to an old stable at all. The interior was very basic and the furniture was old and shabby, none of which matched. The kitchen facilities were basic too, the utensils were old, the mugs looked like they came free with an Easter egg & the pots pans were very limited. The bedroom was directly opposite the cooking area where the old tilting oven & matching greasy extractor was. The toilet & shower room was very compact and had a distinct sewage smell probably due to the fact that the large sewerage tank was right outside the back of the building (surprisingly not shown on the photos !). On a positive note, the area was very nice, Glastonbury was lovely and we enjoyed our daily walks to the top of the Tor. I found it strange that there is only one other review of this property written approx a year ago.

A very comfortable and well kept, open plan appartment.
Everything is porvided here and all in immaculate condition. Very comfortable large bed. Just be aware this is a completely open plan one room appt, plus a bijou shower room, and if you are a large person the shower will not be for you. If you shared you would need to know your fellow guests very well. Very good for a moderately sized couple. In a very pleasant situation.
