Hexham, Northumberland, England
Situated in the Tyne Valley, Peartree Cotttage is an attractive cottage with a spiral staircase and galleried walkway on the first floor. Well equipped and fully heated, the cottage has a log stove and a high standard of furnishings. It is in a quiet situation but within just a couple of miles from the village of Corbrdige which though small, has great shops and good eating. This area of Northumberland probably has the most to offer visitors.

Just 2.5miles away is the market town of Hexham with its historic Abbey, theatre, cinema, leisure centre and Waitrose. The area is superb for walking (the cottage has walking guides) and steeped in Roman history with not only the Roman Wall, but the sites of Corstopitum and Chesters within striking distance. Bowes Museum is one of the only non-metropolitan museums in the country and Alnwick Castle...

Additional amenities & feature info
Downstairs is a reception area comprising a kitchen, dining and seating area with two comfortable sofas and armchair. There is a double bedroom on the ground floor and on suite bathroom (with bath and separate shower) which can also be accessed from the reception making it perfect for older guests. Going up the spiral staircase and along the gallleried walkway, there is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and another bathroom.

A lot of the furniture is old but the whole place has a contemporary feel. An old hearth houses a modern woodburner and there is a table and chairs for eating outside.
