Interaction with guests
I am not based at the apartment but live only five minutes away. I like to greet all guests on arrival to help them settle in and during the guests' stay they have my mobile number and I can be contacted at any time. We do also have a key box at the property and on occasions we do make use of it.

Excellent, elegant apartment in a handy location near the Meadfoot beech and Torquay town centre, complete with dedicated parking. Very well equipped and professionally managed, nothing was too much trouble for Adam.

Booked at short notice for the night prior to a week stay in Brixham. A lovely regency building, but I did find it a little claustrophobic and depressing. Not to knock the lovely building, or the generosity of the complimentary items or cleanliness, it just...More

About the neighbourhood
Meadfoot Bay is a short distance from the centre of Torquay and is a highly desirable leafy residential area close to the sea. Meadfoot Beach and Bay is a wonderful place to sit for a few hours. There is always something to see as the bay is a favourite place for scuba diving and kayaking. There are coastal footpaths close by which enable visitors to access some beautiful dramatic strengths of coastline.

Its close proximity to the centre of Torquay and the Wellswood area means that visitors staying in the Meadfoot have the best of all worlds; Close enough to access all the delights the area has to offer but far enough away to be able to enjoy a tranquil and relaxing break.
Getting around
The apartment is within walking distance of Torquay harbour and town centre and a bus (64) leaves just outside the gates to the crescent. Torquay harbour is the hub for bus services and it is possible to get to lots of places locally.

From April to the end of October there are foot passenger ferry services between Torquay and Brixham and Dartmouth.

Steam Train services operate all year between Paignton & Dartmouth & there is a halt for Agatha Christie's holiday home Greenway.

Most visitors do come to the area by car and it is useful particularly if the intention is to visit other parts of Devon such as Totnes, Dartmouth or Exeter. Having said that, it is perfectly possible to visit these places from Torquay by bus.

For visitors who come without a car, there is a good train service from most parts of the country and in particular from London. Trains leave London Paddington and take about three and a half hours. The journey is extremely pleasant and the highlight comes towards the end of the journey when the train passes along the Dawlish sea wall. Although trains can be an expensive form of travel, bargains are available if tickets are booked online some way in advance. The can be obtained from First Great Western. It should be noted that few services are direc...
