1-1/2 hours from Mexico City, a paradise ln the midst of beautiful vegetation, a river and a waterfall yet one mile from the center of Malinalco. Pueblo Magico (Magic Village title awarded by the Mexican Government). Sit by the pool or the creek, sunbathe, walk in the garden. Meditate or go into town shop for handicrafts, eat at good local restaurants, walk up the hill to the archeological ruins of the temple and a beautiful view of the valley - the Museum is also worthwhile visiting as is the Cultural Center with its wonderful collection of wood carvings by local artists. If you are into adventure try hiking, biking, mountain climbing. Go to The Bicho museum and learn about our many and varied insects. The week-end markets are always fun, eat some of the local foods, try our mezcal. ...1-1/2 hours from Mexico City, a paradise ln the midst of beautiful vegetation, a river and a waterfall yet one mile from the center of Malinalco. Built mainly in adobe in the old mexican style. With 12 ft. ceilings, thatch roofs, tejamanil (wood slat )ceilings , all the bedrooms have views of the mountains. Three with private terraces. The house was designed in the South Seas style with the LV, DN and kitchen areas open to the outdoors. You have a 'Palapa' to sit in the afternoons (or at any time of day or night), sip a drink and enjoy the breeze and the quiet.More

About the neighbourhood
Although 5 minutes from the center of Malinalco, Jalmolonga, our neighborhood, is all peace and quiet with wonderful weather We have many water springs so the vegetation is lush year round. Two blocks away is the Hacienda de Jalmolonga, a National Treasure, currently owned by one of the wealthiest men in Mexico - the Hacienda owns much of the surrounding land which gives us freedom from the packed city atmosphere and the ability to roam thru the fields and horseback ride, run or hike in beautiful territory. From here, within 1-2 hours there are a number of interesting places to see :. Archeological ruins of Xoxicalco, The City of Taxco (the silver city), the city of Ixtapan de la Sal with its hot springs, Cuernavaca. Or go to Chalma. minutes away, and visit the church and monastery...
Getting around
Jalmolonga is aprox 1 kms (as the crow flies) from Malinalco. We have taxis passing by all day. There are buses that leave from Chalma and from Malinalco if you want to visit other areas. Also there are some good tour groups that offer interesting trips
