Interaction with guests
Having operated Dream Cottages on Orcas Island for many years, we appreciate our guests desire for a more romantic and private lodging experience. We strive to provide that cozy and intimate, yet comfortable space for our Inn guests. Our Inn-Keeper does a complete prior to check-in walk through and leaves a card with your name on the door and keys in door for guests to check themselves in. Check in is at 4:00p.m.; check out at 11:00 a.m. We respect your privacy and unless asked, no one enters your space while you are here. Lie in bed all day with a good book or just sit still looking at the ever changing views from your window. *Housekeeping is provided every 3rd day of your stay. More frequent cleans by prior arrangement.

The inn is just 10 minutes from Eastbound, where most restaurants are located, and just 8 minutes from Deer Harbor where we booked whale watching and kayak excursions. The Madrona room had a view of the harbor, was clean, and well-stocked...We especially appreciated the coffee,...More

About the neighbourhood
Orcas Island, located between the U.S. Washington State mainland and British Columbia's Vancouver Island (Canada), is considered to be the most spectacular of the San Juan Islands.

Rural in nature with a shape that creates more waterfront than most islands. You will be driving down valleys up hills and down to the water in minutes. Views are ever changing but always beautiful. Kingfish Inn is on the corner of Crow Valley and Deer Harbor Roads--both designated scenic byways. Water and the verdant valley are both minutes away.
Getting around
The odd and shape and the ever-changing topography of Orcas Island makes it difficult to navigate without a car. T

he island is 54 square miles BIG, and rather than circular, roads branch out in fingers with hamlets, villages and artists communities at the end of each (all with their own unique character).

Guests can bring a car on the ferry or if coming on island by plane. . . have a car waiting for you at the airport, or in the case of Spruce Suite at Kingfish Inn, waiting for you at the dock as you fly into the waters of West Sound via Kenmore's float plane.
Car recommended
How to get there
Airport: Eastsound: 12.0 km
Ferry: Orcas: 6.0 km
Most guests arrive on island via the Washington Ferries departing from Anacortes. The ferries carry both car and foot passengers and the trip to Orcas Island scenic. For those looking for an adventure, we recommend Kenmore airline's float planes that leaves from Lake Union in Seattle and land right in front of Kingfish Inn on the waters of West Sound.
