Take a local bus to your beach, business or sightseeing destination. If you want to be in close proximity to the city, but not in the middle of it all, then Jose's Place is ideal.

Jose's Place is located about 20 to 30 minutes via car/van from the capital of Castries, and from Gros Islet where you will find shopping, beaches, fun times.

This is where you need to stay in St. Lucia to get away from the tourist area. Experiencing the island like a local, clean, clean home, very comfortable beds, up in the hills of the interior- perfect for family/ group who truly want to get away! Close to rainforest, home came fully stocked for a meal cooked in very large kitchen. No cooking? Plenty of room for family or group to move around. Large porches are what I liked- one to greet locals walking by, and one very private porch off bedroom with ensuite bath. That's where I liked to sip my morning cup of tea and to enjoy a moonlit sky. There were no screens on windows, but there was a fan in every room providing plenty of cool air along with strong island breezes! For the eco-tourist or traveler who truly wants to get away, this is it! Owner was quick with communication pre-trip, and our neighbor was house caretaker. Every need was fulfilled!

The home is located in Babonneau, just about 20 minutes from the capital Castries. If you want to be close, but not in the middle of all the action, then this is the spot for you. With public transportation less than a minute away, you can leave this rustic neighborhood, and conveniently travel to the beach, the capital and other locations like a local. Like the outdoors, you will be about 20 minutes by car from zip-lining activities in the rain forest, a fantastic tourist attraction.

If you don't have a car, no worries!! Step out the door and you will be right alongside the main road where you can get a public bus that can get you to your desired destination.

From either of the island's two airports, you will need to board a taxi, and request that you are taken to Babonneau where the home is located. If you are traveling from UVF which is in the south, you will get your first introduction to the lush greenery of St. Lucia, so enjoy the ride.

From SLU airport, you are about 20 to 30 minutes from you vacation retreat in little traffic
