I literally had a room with a view. I barely had to lift my head to see the sound from bed in the morning. Perfect for not a morning person.
My husband took advantage of the morning sun and was up gazing at seals and...More

Thank you for your review. We're very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us.
I am reluctant to write this review because honestly, I want to keep it to myself. Annie's was perfect. We have visited Acadia for many years and I was beginning to feel like Goldilocks, but this place was "just right." The cottage has large, spacious...More

We're glad you shared your thoughts on Annie's Outlook! We hope to see you again on a future visit!
Absolutely loved our stay! The cottage was well furnished and comfortable. We had a serene view to return to after exploring the busy side of Acadia. Robin was a great resource and pointed us to local establishments that were excellent. We would definitely stay here...More
Absolutely loved Annie's sunset cottage !! Great location on the quiet side of acadia. Only took 25 minutes to get to popular attractions in acadia. We made sure we returned to cottage to catch the sunset every night. Absolutely stunning sunsets!!
We enjoyed our third consecutive year at Annie's Outlook at Sunset Cottages and have already reserved for next year. Love the peace and solitude of staying on the Quiet Side, but we can always find activity in nearby Southwest Harbor, or Bar Harbor and Northeast...More
This was a much anticipated trip, and Annie's Outlook truly delivered. Like all other reviews, I have reinforce that the cottage was fantastic: well stocked with amenities, modern conveniences, beautiful views, and generous owners (Barbara and family). This is a wonderful place to make as...More
This cottage is even nicer than it looks in the pictures. It was extremely clean, and the kitchen and bath were recently and nicely renovated. The bed was quite comfortable. The setting could not be more perfect for someone who comes for the love of...More

Enjoyed being close to Acadia Nat'l Park. Nice view from cottage. We saw eagle flying overhead. A harbor seal made a visit and we saw numerous water fowl we had not seen before. But for the price, there were a few negative things we feel...More

We appreciate your feedback. We do spray the cottage every spring. These must have been some particularly hardy little bugs this year. Thank you for letting us know so we can address them.
We're close to all that Acadia National Park has to offer. It's only five minutes to famous Bass Harbor Lighthouse and Thurston's Lobster Pound, and five minutes more to seaside hikes at Wonderland, Ship Harbor, and Flying Mountain -- not to mention all the
shops and restaurants in the quaint town of Southwest Harbor.
We are located on a quiet road with parking available just steps from the cottage. You will need a car to get around. Acadia National Park covers just over half of the land on Mt Desert Island, so on the island you are never very far from the park. Nearly anyplace in the park including Bar Harbor can be reached within 30 minutes.
The Island Explorer features ten bus routes linking you with destinations in Acadia National Park and neighboring village centers. This clean propane-powered vehicles offer Mount Desert Island visitors and residents free transportation to hiking trails, carriage roads, island beaches, and in-town shops and restaurants.
Please note: THE ISLAND EXPLORER OPERATES LATE JUNE THROUGH COLUMBUS DAY.
