Holiday Rental House
Coastguards Cottage, New Forest Escapes, a holiday rental company run by local New Forest people. This lovely little seaside holiday cottage rental in Keyhaven is the second in a terrace facing the sea. Inside is smart, bright, and the upstairs bedroom has great views of the Isle of Wight and Solent. It is a perfect little bolthole in a great location. The house is to one side of Keyhaven harbour and a 45 second walk from the waters edge. The area is peaceful, pretty and there is superb walking to great foodie places and further along the coastal paths. The location makes it ideal to grab the ferry to Hurst Castle - or walk along the one mile spit out to the famous fort on the edge of the Solent. There is café there along with many others in the local Milford on Sea village. The views...Coastguards Cottage, New Forest Escapes, a holiday rental company run by local New Forest people. Whilst the beaches are shingle, at half way to low tide they are sandy. Crabbing can be enjoyed at high tide.More

Perfect location for three of us to go to beach, crabbing, paddle boarding, take in the New Forest. Cottage itself is tastefully decorated with a nice, modern fitted kitchen. The living area is small - not a problem in the beautiful summer we’re having currently as...More

Glad that you loved it there Magda. It's a fab spot. We are major crabbing fans. What fun! Do come again, we have lots of other houses at New Forest Escapes too. x

About the neighbourhood
Sleepy, small and very boaty, Keyhaven was a port in 1206 and is now a fishing hamlet. Bird reserves surround the coast here and the Isle of Wight and Hurst Castle spit and fortress dominate the view across the Solent. Keyhaven is fronted by the the Keyhaven Marshes, a low lying area of wetland grasses. It's an important bird reserve and across this you can clearly see the Isle of Wight Needles. If you walk up on the coastal path here you can watch fabulous sunsets from several park benches built just for the job. The hamlet lies at one end of an extraordinary shingle bank, Hurst Spit. The mile long shingle bar reaches out to the south dividing the turbulent Solent waters and creating a calm lagoon on the eastern side.
How to get there
Car or train is easy. London is about 2 hours.
