The sumptuous common areas in the house include two lengthy dining tables, two plush couches and sculptural lighting. The bedrooms have quality French linen sheets. Family friendly amenities include a high chair, Mokee crib, toys, Bjorn baby bouncer and bassinet. The house is 30 mins from officially one of France’s “most beautiful villages” Aubeterre-sur-Dronne as well as vibrant markets -- don’t forget to sample the local Charentais melon! For a day trip to explore city life, Bordeaux is an hour away, and Dune du Pilat, Europe’s highest sand dune, is a 1 hour 30 min drive. This is a charming centuries old country house that we're taking great care to restore and outfit with modern comforts. While the home is certainly idyllic, there may be unforeseen issues that crop up so please don't hesitate to reach out to me immediately so I can make your stay comfortable. The closest town is the fortified hill-town of Barbezieux (10 mins away) which has a medieval castle, playground, stores and good restaurants. The stunning village of Aubeterre-sur-Dronne is also a 30-min drive. Angoulême, home to the comic book festival, is 30 mins away. Bordeaux is 1 hour away. The beach town of Royan is 1 hr 15 mins and Arcachon beaches are a 1 hr 30 min drive. Notre maison est très spacieuses et décorée avec soin. Prenez l'apéritif sur la terrasse ombragée au calme du jardin intégralement clos, qui dispose d'une piscine hors-sol et d'un espace barbecue. Passez à table dans la vaste cuisine au charme authentique. La maison offre le charme authentique des vieilles pierres et poutres apparentes, combiné au confort moderne notamment d'une salle de bain inspirée d'un spa, ouvrant sur le jardin. Cette propriété baignée de lumière est très paisible et totalement privée. Au coeur de la nature, c’est le lieu idéal si vous cherchez calme et sérénité. Les grandes pièces à vivre disposent de deux longues tables à dîner, de deux canapés confortables et d’un éclairage soigné. Les chambres à coucher sont dotées de draps en lin français de haute qualité. Les familles sont les bienvenues, la maison dispose d’une chaise haute et d’un berceau pour les très jeunes enfants. Elle est située à 30 minutes d'un des "plus beaux villages de France", Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, et à quelques minutes de nombreux marchés de produits locaux des différents villages voisins - n'oubliez pas de goûter l'incomparable melon charentais ! Passez la journée à Angoulême ou Bordeaux, ou sur les plages de Royan, Arcachon ou de la Dune du Pilat, plus haute dune d'Europe, à 1h30 en voiture. Cette maison est une ancienne grange vieille de plusieurs siècles que nous continuons d’entretenir avec soin en tâchant de l’équiper de tout le confort moderne. C’est ce qui fait tout son charme bien sûr, mais si cela devait occasionner le moindre souci ou désagrément durant votre séjour n’hésitez pas à faire appel à moi afin que je puisse y remédier et vous offrir un séjour tout confort. La ville la plus proche est la cité fortifiée de Barbezieux (à 10 minutes), avec son château médiéval, commerces et restaurants. Le sublime village d'Aubeterre-sur-Dronne est à 30 minutes en voiture. Angoulême et son festival international de bande-dessinée, est à 30 minutes. Bordeaux et sa gare TGV sont à 1 heure de voiture. La cité balnéaire de Royan est à 1h15 minutes de là, et les plages d'Arcachon à 1h30 minutes en voiture. La ville la plus proche est Barbezieux, jolie ville fortifiée construite sur une colline surplombée par un château médiéval (à ne pas manquer !). On trouve sur place tous les commerces nécessaires, de la petite épicerie / cave à vins à l'hypermarché, ainsi que d'excellents restaurants, un cinéma et une piscine et plusieurs marchés hebdomadaires de produits frais et locaux.
