Holiday Rental House
Recently renovated throughout (July 2016) Rose Cottage is a beautiful pale pink cottage, situated in a picturesque country setting, up a winding lane in the village of Coychurch. Perfect for families or friends to share and close to some lovely sandy beaches. And while you have tranquility, you are also near to local amenities and transport links, being in short proximity to the M4 motorway. Rose Cottage is fully detached with the benefit of additional separate chalet style accommodation known as ' Rose Bud'. There is a huge array of things to do in the area. For those of you who are keen golfers there is the Coed-Y-Mwstwr 18 hole golf course, 0.5km away from the cottage. The beaches of Ogmore-by-Sea and Southerndown are both a 10-15 minute drive - great for either surfing, horse-rid...Recently renovated throughout (July 2016) Rose Cottage is a beautiful pale pink cottage, situated in a picturesque country setting, up a winding lane in the village of Coychurch. And while you have tranquility, you are also near to local amenities and transport links, being in short proximity to the M4 motorway. For those of you who are keen golfers there is the Coed-Y-Mwstwr 18 hole golf course, 0.5km away from the cottage. The beaches of Ogmore-by-Sea and Southerndown are both a 10-15 minute drive - great for either surfing, horse-riding, exploring or having picnics. Shopping? There is a designer outlet and large cinema complex 10 minutes away. The quaint town of Cowbridge with its boutique shops and restaurants is 15km and within a short drive are many entertaining attractions that South Wales has to offer - among which are The Big Pit, St Fagons Historical Museum, the Brecon Railway and Cardiff Bay with its huge range of watersports, restaurants and activities. The cottage is a great base for walking being only 15 minutes away from the Welsh Coastal Path. The main cottage consists of four bedrooms. A master with ensuite bathroom, bedroom 1 has a King size bed and en-suite shower. There are also two twin bedded rooms. A travel cot is also available on request. There is also a large family bathroom. On the ground-floor there is a huge family lounge with dining table, large open fireplace and plenty of seating. There is an additional snug which is ideal for children with sofa and has plenty of board games and a few toys for the under 6. The cottage has a brand new large kitchen with bifold doors which provides an excellent view of the surrounding countryside. There is an Aga (note only on in the winter) and a Rangemaster cooker. The kitchen is fully equipped with all amenities. In addition there is a separate utility room and downstairs cloakroom. We have a separate chalet 'Rose Bud' with the accommodation on the upper mezzannine - overlooking a large lounge with two sofa beds, television and small kitchen. There is a shower room on the ground floor. This makes Rose Cottage and Rose Bud ideal for two families to share or for families with older children. The main house can sleep 8 persons plus a travel cot or two. Rose Bud can sleep 2 upstairs and a max of 4 downstairs but it would be a squeeze.More

Perfectly situated a few minutes from Coychurch village and Bridgend. Easy access to Ogmore, Portcawl and the Gower. The owners have children in mind as their own childrens’ toys are available to use. A delightful annexe adds pleasure to the amenities. I would recommend Rose...More

About the neighbourhood
Beaches.... The heritage Coast, Southerndown, Ogmore-by-sea and Porthcawl is a approximately a 10-15 minute drive. Southerndown beach (Dunraven Bay) is a sandy beach which incorporates the old castle of The Earls of Dunraven. Ogmore-by-Sea is famous for its sand dunes and Castle and where the river Ogmore meets the sea. Ogmore is great for little ones to fish in the rock pools. If you like horse riding then you can also pony trek, either on the beach itselft or around the area. Horse riding is managed via Ogmore farm Trekking centre and is suitable for all ages. Porthcawl has a funfair and a small town filled with bars and restaurants and is a popular location for international surfers. For those of you who are fans of the Gavin and Stacy television show then you can visit Barry Islan...
How to get there
Coychurch is situated five minutes from the M4 motorway. Exit at Junction 35 and follow the signs towards Bridgend. When entering the village of Coychurch you will see a small petrol station you take the road up towards the Coed-Y-Mwster Hotel. Once under the railway bridge you are immediately in the countryside, follow the winding road up the hill - and take a right at the Cattery on the Corner. Rose Cottage is the second house on the right hand side of the country lane. There is plenty of parking on the private drive for 3-4 cars.
