Stop here if you want a venue for a stag/hen or family stay where you don't want to worry about making to much noise or mess (within limits)! You may also want to be in a friendly village with 2 pubs where landlords Stuart and Joe serve up competitively priced food, drink and often free musical talent. Ex private chef Joe , who has cooked for the likes of Rupert Murdoch prior to running The Six Bells, can do breakfasts by prior arrangement as well as offering 10% off food prices for Trimnells guests. There are also 2 clubs that do drinks and music that welcome visitors for a small entrance fee, they offer country friendliness, and competitively priced drinks I might add. The village attracts people from the surrounding area and can be buzzing at the weekend. It is not unknown for the likes of Peter Gabriel and Nick Mason to visit &#... Read more

Interaction with guests
The holiday let part of the property is on the ground and first floors of the main house. The side annex and top floor are private. The latter is reached by a physically separate internal staircase with a side entrance. Your host will be on the top floor and available if any problem arises. This does not mean you can't make any noise! On the contrary, you are there to enjoy yourselves and if you want quiet there wont be noise from elsewhere. There are many things to do in the area. See our website for a list.

About the neighbourhood
Trimnells House is located in the village of Colerne. Whilst the delights of Bath are close at hand, the village itself offers many local amenities including a post office, hairdressers, newsagent, florist, grocery store and two traditional village pubs providing meals and refreshments, all reached within a five minute walk from the house. A short drive away, the picturesque villages of Castle Combe and Lacock and the local towns of Bradford-On-Avon and Corsham can be of great interest and provide many and varied dining opportunities.

Lacock is a village bequeathed to the National Trust and used for scenes in Cranford and the Harry Potter movies as well as being the site of Lacock Abbey and Museum where Henry Fox Talbot did pioneering work on photography.
Getting around
I recommend seeing Bath, Castle Combe and Lacock. Further afield you have Bristol, Stonehenge, Longleat, Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury and many others but it all depends on how much time you have.
Car advised
How to get there
Airport: Bristol: 43.0 km
Railway: Bath or Chippenham: 13.0 km
There is more info on our website on how to get here so in this limited space I will just point out that Colerne has Bath Road going through it and GPS can send you through some lanes to the South. So avoid! M4 Westbound. Get off at J17. Go South to A420. GPS will tell you to go straight on. Ignore it and turn right onto A420 (GPS will soon pick up on new root and you will save time/miles). You will go to Ford where you turn left to Colerne.
East bound M4 leave at J18 and GPS should find Colerne OK.
From Bath find A4 Eastbound to Batheaston. Turn left up Bannerdown Hill.
