Mentioned in the Domesday book, Beckington is a quiet but not dull village. There are 2 good pubs and a small delicatessen in the centre of the village and an award wining farm shop on the outskirts. There are over 100 listed buildings with a thriving village and church community, tennis and cricket club.

Regular buses into Bath and Warminster. Buses also go to Lacock, the National Trust Village.
