New Zealand i-SITE Visitor Information Centre Network

There is a network of about 80 official i-SITE visitor information centres throughout New Zealand.

The details and locations of these change from time to time - the most accurate list of i-SITE visitor information centres can be found on this page. Here you can also download a map that shows the location of all centres.

The network is co-ordinated by Tourism New Zealand but all centres are individually owned and operated (mainly by local Councils or Regional Tourism Organisations) but they must maintain minimum standards including opening hours and trained professional staff. They are all Qualmark endorsed.

Each centre provides the following services:

  • Expert local knowledge about the region - events, attractions, restaurants and more
  • Itinerary planning
  • Nationwide bookings - accommodation, transport, activities, attractions
  • Maps, weather  and safety information
Tourism New Zealand has a comprehensive website - - which is available in numerous country editions and languages. You can also download their free travel app 'Essential New Zealand' for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
