Plan Your Trip to Sundance: Best of Sundance Tourism
Explore Sundance
Sundance is a ski resort in the state of Utah, owned by Hollywood legend Robert Redford (the name derives, of course, from Redford's role in the seminal film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid). It is a great resort for skiing fans but also a family friendly holiday destination in its own right.
Winter sports are of course the main attraction of Sundance ski resort, on the northeast slopes of Mount Timpanogos. It is an area geared towards confident and experienced skiing enthusiasts, with only 3 of the resort's 41 ski trails marked at the easiest level. Other than the skiing, the area's other principal draw is the annual Sundance Film Festival in Park City, about 30 miles from the Sundance Ski Resort. Also in the summer there are ten miles of alpine trails over which you can go hiking or cycling, and horse riding. There are also opportunities for fly fishing for any keen anglers in the family.
