We stayed in this house for a week with our two children age 3 and 7. The house is very clean and had more than enough room for our family of four. There is wifi, drinking water and a house cell phone for use. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of beach and bath towels provided. It is also worth noting that the house has a washer and dryer. Not easy to find when looking for a rental on Roatan, but a must for a family traveling with kids.
Melissa, the property manager, was amazing. She organized a driver, snorkel trip, kayak rental and day excursion for us and was always available to answer questions or make recommendations. When my husband left his very expensive fly rod at the house, she went above and beyond to make sure it was returned.
The location was great. Right in between West Beach and West End, walkable to both but you can always hail one of the water taxis from the dock. We used this frequently because we elected not to rent a car. Being outside of a town makes this beach peaceful and uncrowded. We were able to get the kids proficient at snorkeling right from the dock and there is a reef about 50 yards from shore that you can swim out to.
A couple of things to note before traveling to Roatan the first time. You will need to stop at a large grocery store on your way out to the coast. There isn't much in the way of options for getting groceries in either West Bay or West End. Second, the water taxis are hard to find after dark. So if you don't plan ahead you might be walking home in the dark. Third, it is important to take advantage of the local drink the Monkey Lala. Super yummy, I made sure I had two a day. Lastly, try to stay out of town on days that cruise ships are docked. It gets crazy on the more popular beaches. This is easier to do if you time your trip to off cruise season.
Melissa was awesome, she was easily available, responded immediately, and took care of our every need. The house is clean, beds very comfortable, plenty of towels for everyone. The kitchen has everything you need. We had plenty of fresh water brought to us daily. We would definitely stay here again!
We stayed here at the Island Dream House for 3 days. We have only ever stayed in an all inclusive so we weren't sure what to expect.
What a beautiful house.. There was everything that we needed, plus more!!! We never felt the need to eat out, as everything we needed was supplied in the kitchen. Just bring the food!!!the decks were spectacular. Shade if we wanted to rest in the hammock, or swing on the swinging bench in the sun. We had everything that we needed. Everything was so clean and sparkling. It felt just like home.
We especially liked that it was right there on the ocean. The snorkelling was spectacular. We saw so much life in the ocean and the long dock was so nice. we sat there and enjoyed the beautiful sunset each night.
There were water taxi's that would take you to West End or West Bay - for a small fee. this saved us driving or walking to these locations!!!
I would recommend this house to all my friends. It was more than what we could have asked for. we will definitely come back to this house again!!!!
From the moment we were introduced to the house by our very helpful property manager, Melissa, we were in love! The location was beautiful - surrounded by tropical trees, with a perfect view of the sunset from the upper decks. And in less than a minute we were at the private beach and dock. A nice treat was the outdoor shower when we came back from swimming and snorkeling, we could stand on the deck looking out over the palms and the sea and rinse off right there!
It's obvious that this is a well-loved home, it's immaculately kept and the large kitchen was a pleasure to work in. It had everything that we could possibly need. Our bed was very comfortable, right down to the pillows, and it's so nice that each bedroom has it's own bathroom. We were surprised to find out how close we were to both West End and West Bay by walking on the beach; one morning we walked into West End and it took only about 20 minutes to get there.
We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful beach vacation in a lovely setting, both indoors and outdoors!
We had an amazing time at Island Dream House!!! My husband and I stayed at Dream House with my parents. It was their first time vacationing in the caribbean outside of an all inclusive. We were all so impressed with the quality of Dream House and the amenities! The kitchen was so well equipped and fully stocked that we felt like we were at home. There was not a small appliance or dish/serving dish etc that was not already in the kitchen. The house was so well equipped we didn't end up eating out, but you can wave a water taxi down from the dock for $3 they will take you to West Bay or West End. We also spoke to others who had just walked (about 20 minutes) in either direction on the beach to West End or West Bay. So we were VERY happy with the location!!! Sunset every night off our deck or off of the dock on the beach. Just great.
The house was immaculately cleaned. We were a stone's throw from the beach and dock, which we absolutely loved! Juan Carlos rented us kayaks for a SUPER reasonable price for 3 of the days we stayed there, and on Melissa's suggestion (the property manager), we enjoyed kayaking to the reef and saw so much!!! The snorkeling right off the docks was amazing too and we saw a variety of fish, coral, lobster, and crabs! The whole area was so private and quiet. It was truly a taste of paradise.
Overall, we had a great time. The house was better than a home away from home and the location blew us away!!!! Would definitely go back and will definitely recommend to friends.
