Fabulous home from home
Fabulous little hideaway, cosy and welcoming well equipped home from home. Super pubs within walking distance. Great walks and the museums are a must. There is so much to see here. The welcome pack is great everything from home-made bread to sausage egg and bacon.

Avoid: pretty cottage, awful owners, not pet-friendly.
In short: the worst experience we've ever had with a holiday rental - and we've rented dozens. First problem was we simply couldn't get in! The owners only provide a mobile contact to ask for the key code! That's right - you've paid nearly £1000 but YOU have to chase THEM to be allowed in! We called repeatedly through the day: straight to answerphone. We arrived at 5pm STILL unable to make contact. In desperation we called Sykes (booking agents), who took 2 hours to get the number while were left outside in the dark and rain. All we got was an insincere apology and a tale about being out of reception - clearly untrue since the answerphone message was 'phone-based, not the service provider's. By the time we'd unloaded we were cold, damp, tired and hungry. No heating had been left-on and it was past 8pm - too late to eat. Instead we retired to the chilly sitting-room, within which is a pale-grey fabric suite - highly unsited to a holiday let advertised as pet-friendly! This meant excluding the dogs altogether: annoying when you're paying £30/w pet surcharge! Only one radiator in the sitting-room worked, so we lit a fire: the room filled with smoke as the chimney draws poorly. Despite the copious smoke, the smoke alarm did not sound - clearly faulty. Nice to know safety checks are vigilant! Frustrated, hungry, annoyed and disappointed we gave-up and went to bed. Attempts to lie-in the the next day were foiled by the start of intermittent siege-by-DIY as two adjoining properties were under renovation. Hammering became a familiar alarm clock. "Not-so-Sleepy Hollow" SH itself could benefit from some DIY: one gatepost was rotted and hanging loose, making closing the gates awkward, and the PIR porch light was unreliable. One stair-tread was loose, and I wonder how compliant with modern electrical installation standards the 1950s Bakelite light-switches are? We were provided with just one-and-a-half rolls of the thinnest, cheapest toilet paper. Blunt kitchen knives & no sharpener were typical of lets, plus the perennial classic: no recognisable condiments except pepper and salt! I'd rather have the basics done right than the egregious selection of 'local-ish produce'. The garden is pleasant but not dog-secure - with big gaps in the chicken wire to the long, steep drop to the river. No matter, because we couldn't let the dogs out of the door into it, making it it useless to us. A notice in the bathroom suggests the shower is powerful - we approached with care, but the reality was more of a determined trickle! The bedrooms are tiny, as stated, the bed we used was adequate and not obviously worn-out. As for the owners, their habit of dishonesty extends to the housekeeping bond - after we had left we were accused of "beds were not stripped - refuse was left - additional cleaning due to pet hair". The bed we used WAS stripped, refuse was placed in the bin provided, and pet hair - not only had we already paid a £30 surcharge for pets, we swept the floor before locking-up - what did they expect, bald dogs? The bed WAS stripped, so that was an out-and-out lie to justify their cheapskate money-grubbing. Sykes, the letting agents failed to resolve these issues AND have prevented me leaving a review - so don't trust them either. You may read this as a hatchet-job, but we've been left out-of-pocket and with a VERY nasty taste in our mouths. We would LOVE to have simply enjoyed a hassle-free holiday and to have left a great review. The owners made that impossible.

A true hidden gem ❤
We arrived after a 6 hour journey to to the most beautiful hidden gem of a cottage, perfect for relaxing in. It's close enough to the local amenities that you can walk to them, pubs included, but far enough away from the rest of the world that you could be in the middle of nowhere and still have the Severn at the bottom of the garden. The cottage has everything that you will need, and more, for a self-catering stay with a lovely new kitchen. The very comfortable living area is light and airy with lots of seating, books, DVDs etc for nights in. The dining area is great with stone and wooden floors throughout. The star of the show is the stairs which lead to the cosy bedrooms with plenty of storage space and a bathroom with good shower (a must for me!) and bath. I can't really say too many good things about Sleepy Hollow if I'm honest but come prepared to explore the local area as it is stunning.

Lovely, cosy cottage
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. It was a cold week in January and the sun does not get into this part of the Ironbridge gorge, but the cottage was very cosy and warm. It is really well-equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable, relaxing stay. The position is ideal for visiting the museums and for the numerous beautiful and interesting walks, with the church just behind the cottage being a hidden gem showing off the wonderful tiles and bricks made in the area. The kitchen in the cottage has everything you need for self-catering and there are lots of good options for eating out, including a friendly local pub just a couple of minutes walk away. We are looking forward to returning in the summer to enjoy the garden by the river.

Quirky cottage with a modern twist!
We loved staying in this period cottage with all of it's quirky features. Although there are beams, open fires & stone floors, the cottage owners have gone out of their way to fit modern facilities with a fantastic full range which is ideal for cooking up the local Shropshire produce provided in the generous welcome pack! The cottage is situated close to Ironbridge & it's museums which is ideal; for avid geocachers like ourselves, there are walks from the doorstep across the beautiful gorge so we left the car behind for most of the week! We had deep snow for a few days so were very pleased to come back to the warmth of this cosy cottage-we will be booking again!

Superb getaway
My daughter and I booked a short break during February. The location was perfect for exploring Ironbridge and we were able to walk to the majority of places which allowed us to explore the area as much as possible in the time we had. The cottage was beautifully kept and lacked nothing, the fire was laid and ready to light and there was a wide range of information provided, everything from bus routes to museum information. The welcome pack included local produce such as bacon, eggs, sausages, milk and home baked bread which were appreciated by us both. Unfortunately the weather kept us from enjoying the garden with views over the river so we sampled the local pub instead which I would also highly recommend. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if returning to the area would dedinitely book to stay here again.

Perfect Cottage
As the title suggests, the cottage was perfect in every way and I've probably said it about another cottage but this one is the best I have stayed in to date..... The access road to the property was more a river than a road but I can't let that reflect negatively on the owners as they can't control the weather and alternative parking was offered close by. The welcome pack was exceptional and enjoyed by my wife and myself and our dog. The location of the cottage is central to everything in the locality and only time stopped us doing more. Will definitely be back if the opportunity arises. Thank you to the owners for a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Welcoming cottage, perfectly located.
We stayed here as we wanted to be local to Ironbridge, but a little out of the way of the parking issues in the town. The cottage surpassed our expectations. We have stayed in many cottages around the country and this one is one of the best. The location, near to the Tile Museum is perfect for local pubs (all of which do good food, and accept dogs) and visiting the local attractions. There is plenty of dog walking. The old railway line is convenient for gentle strolls in either direction. The surrounding countryside offers everything else. Shropshire has a lot to offer. we used to live in the area and there is still a lot we haven't covered. The welcome pack was lovely, and all sourced locally. Fresh bread, marmalade, coffee, eggs, bacon, sausages... and even treats for the dogs. I haven't received a welcome pack like this before. The cottage was well equipped with all you would need in the kitchen, towels for the bathroom, a hairdryer, a dog bowl and towel. Again, all you would need for a break. The sitting room was comfortable and had a vast variety of books and DvDs for those quieter moments, or when the weather is not on your side. The little garden overlooking the river is beautifully kept and lovely for alfresco drinking. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage - though the stairs are not for small children or the less mobile.

SUPERB LOCATION
What an absolutely beautiful cottage in a superb location. A well appreciated welcome pack of food was waiting for us when we arrived. The cottage itself is ideal for all the local museums (we managed 7 out of the 10) - will have to go back to complete them all! Jackfield Tile Museum within about 50 yards of the cottage an absolute must. The only minor drawback was the fact that the road from Jackfield to Ironbridge was under repair and our nightly walk to eat was a little hair raising to say the least (no pavement and very narrow road). An added bonus was the wonderful neighbour and dog!

Ironbridge museums
This cottage is great for visiting the Ironbridge gorge museums it is very peaceful and well appointed. We arrived to find a welcome pack containing bread, butter, jam, and a bottle of wine. In the fridge was bacon, sausage, eggs, and milk. What a nice touch from the owners. The rooms were all well equipped and clean.
