Description: Fresh seasonal food and delicious wines. We cook every dish from scratch, bake bread, make cakes and smoke our own fish. Sustainability is at our heart. If we don't know where our produce comes from we won't serve it. We don't serve bottled water but filter our own. All day brunch 7 days a week, a seasonal a la carte menu in the evening and plenty for vegetarians and vegans.

Had a delicious lunch here today with my wife and her mum. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly and the carrot cake we had for dessert was possibly the best we've ever had! The only reason I didn't give it 5/5 is the fact our waiter today wasn't very friendly/happy and we all noticed.

Having been to Here on many occasions for breakfast or dinner we decided to hold a birthday party for 30 friends to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday.
We know the food is locally sourced where possible so we were confident the canapés we chose would not disappoint.
We had the upstairs room which we were allowed to decorate with balloons & photos. A bar with a bar tender was provided & we chose a selection of local brewery beers & the house wines with soft drinks for the inevitable drivers. The 2 staff allocated worked hard serving drinks and canapés which were delicious. Our guests were superbly looked after.
There was plenty of seating & the room was comfortably ventilated.
We were allowed to use a music play list for a little dancing once the drinks had lowered the inhibitions.
A big thank you to Matthew & his staff for a memorable occasion.
Be sure to visit if you prefer to support an independent local restaurant with a menu which won't dissapoint.
Highly recommended

Thank Gerry L

My wife and I popped in for a coffee and a lunchtime snack. We were very impressed with the very friendly service, the ambiance and the food - and certainly a place we plan to revisit - especially after I saw they have live Jazz occasions...

There are several interesting restaurants around this one in the quaint town of Berkhampsted

Visited on two different Friday evenings for the steak and wine deal. Staff excellent, restaurant and it’s furnishings interesting, wine good, steak not the greatest. The first time, we thought “bad day”; second time, becoming a habit.

Have not eaten other food so maybe steak is not their forte and another dish will be great. Will visit again to see if the latter is true.

Called in for lunch with our Son, Daughter in Law and Granddaughter. The burgers at £11.00 to £14.00 are rather expensive but are good. It advises that the food is all freshly cooked and you may have to wait but 45 minute wait for 5 burgers seems a bit of a long wait. The tea is also rather expensive at £3.00 per drink. Will look for other options before visiting again.

Dear Keith,

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We value comments from our guests and it was good to learn about your experience.

We always try to make sure our visitors know about what's important to us at HERE and how that's reflected in the food we serve, but sometimes in the heat of a busy service we miss the opportunity to have a chat with our customers.

We cook every dish from scratch in our kitchen using ingredients as fresh, local and seasonal as possible. No industrial kitchen pre-prepared frozen dishes are served. We bake bread, make jams and chutneys and smoke our own fish and if we don't know where produce comes from we won't serve it! That's why our selection of burgers may be slightly higher in price than the average burger you might find on the high street, but we're sure you can tell the difference and it's good to know we have a direct impact on animal welfare and provenance.

Apologies if this was not communicated with you as well, but the price of the tea is for the pot which includes unlimited complementary refills. In the case of green tea the second, third or even fourth infusion is often deemed the best.

Once again, thank you, both for your visit and your feedback. We hope to have you and your family as our guests again in the near future.
