Stay here if you are visiting matamata/hobbiton.

Beautiful rooms, amazing service, quaint atmosphere. If you love shabby chic then you'll love this.

The bed was so comfortable and the shower was great! The surroundings were beautiful although it's a 10 min drive to nearest town.

Had a full breakfast the next morning and it was taken in the main kitchen with the owner cooking up eggs and pancakes and making fresh pots of coffee whilst you sit at the large kitchen table. Really old school, personal B and B experience.

Absolutely no complaints with this place. Would recommend it very highly.

We were driving into Matamata late on a Tuesday night, 8.30pm. No bookings and were surprised that the town was booked out re motels. Saw this B&B on site and rang directly. Diane was so accommodating not even asking for a credit card but confirming she would hold a room for us while we went into Matamata and found a restaurant still open for dinner. We got in to Villa Walton around 9.30 pm. A beautiful room with ensuite all ready for us and then Diane took us to the lounge and there was tea, coffee and some amazing goodies to help yourself to. Real home away from home. Had the best sleep ever. Great bed. Next morning were given a great breakfast including pancakes. Great place and really can recommend. We will definitely be back. Took some amazing pics and put on my Facebook and friends were so envious.

Room Tip: We had the one King Bed only room with ensuite

The owner have done a wonderful job in restoring the villa to its old charm after it had been utterly deformed by previous owners. Every single room was cosy and beautiful. I would not only recommend to stay there but to hire the owners to renovate your house should you live close by!!
