Many other reviewers explain the nature of this site, so I will simply comment on a few practical matters.

The bus trip from Rhodes Town takes a little over an hour and costs 5 Euros each way. It leaves from the west side bus terminal - the northern of the two terminals on the west side of the New Market just north of Old Town. Don't worry about missing the stop - as the bus approaches Ancient Kamiros it leaves the coast road and makes a slow climb up a winding road inland for a few hundred meters, coming to a stop in a car park at the entrance to the site. You'll know that you're there.

We did not look at the prices in the cafe but there is a refrigerated vending machine across from the ticket window that sells 500ml bottles of water for 50 cents. The WCs (located inside the site) are free.

There is a little shade, but not much. Wear a hat. There is work going on - both archeological and construction of visitor improvements - but it doesn't interfere with the visit. We spent about an hour and a half walking the entire site. It is well worth the 4 Euro admission.

Not much to see here in Ancient Kamiros, literally just some rocks. Barely any information about it. Wouldn't have been so bad if it was free but we paid the same to get into Lindos Acropolis which was far more interesting and enjoyable!

You pay 6 euros each and you get a small map of the area to explore but not much else. Just keep wondering about and you do get a sense of just how big this place was and the views are wonderful. There were "guides" about but not really for your benefit they are there to tell you where you can't go!

A pretty big site with lots to see. We enjoyed this but as we like ancient sites it just seemed like a circular tour. It really needed more than 45 mins to do it justice but we didn't hire a car and the cost of a taxi there would gave been prohibitive.

Reasonable priced, well signed with information about the site and a good place to take photos. Car park ok but watch out for busses as its seems they just block the car park!!!
