We just came back from Oman which is a safe and friendly country. If you must go to Dubai for work ,etc slip on over to Zighy Bay for your vacation. It's a pristine all natural paradise, exactly the opposite of its neighbors. it's so beautiful and our room was as good as they get. All of the rooms have gorgeous, private plunge pools, with a place to sit in the shade, and another in the sun. The designers thought of absolutely everything for guests comfort.

In short, this is one of the best resorts we have stayed at and we have no doubt we will be coming back!
The hotel's rusty chic design is beautiful & still manages to be luxurious. It fits in seamlessly to the surrounding location of mountains and beach. The decor, the attention to detail and the staff, all make each day feel just incredibly easy...

The excellent service started prior to our arrival, when the staff were extremely helpful organising the many small details which need attending to when travelling with a young child. They were quick to respond to every query and arrange our transfer from dubai airport & the Oman boarder passes needed.
We were upgraded to a stunning Pool Villa suite which I would highly recommend (again especially if you have a infant) due to the large separate lounge and extra bathroom.
A full size wooden cot was already in our villa and the catering staff had already been informed that we would need food made for our son (14 months)
Speaking of food.... Breakfast was excellent - the a'la carte and buffet both had an incredible variety (including a good selection of healthy options which we really appreciated) and everything was fresh & delicious. The chefs would make anything you requested & were brilliant in making a varied breakfast for our son to enjoy (including brioche french toast and fig compote) - this has been the best we have ever seen him eat!
For lunches and dinners there restaurants offered a good variety of quality food. We didn't get to try Senses on the edge but we enjoyed all our other meals. As foodie parents we also really appreciated the efforts the staff would go to prepare different nutritious meals for our son each day - Chicken curry, thai curry, sea bass & stir fry etc. etc. Another big plus for us was the in villa dinning - without a doubt one of the largest in room menus we have seen, which made it easy to let our sun sleep in one room whilst we enjoyed a full 3 course meal outside or in our lounge.

The staff were all super friendly and really looked after us and our son. We really couldn't speak more highly of them - attentive, courteous, friendly.

Lastly - Excellent to have your own pool and beach garden. The pool is a really good size and the water warm enough for little ones..

It is no wonder we me so many couple and families who were on there second or third visit to the resort..
Our needs have definitely changed now we have a child, but we didn't feel any on our own enjoying or relaxation time was compromised at all here. We would highly recommend Zighy Bay for anyone with kids...Go !

Amazing hotel. The view is absolutely a dream and the beach is paradise. The water is so warm and the sand is pure gold. There is good food, a nice breakfast, good fruits, and relaxing activities to do like snorkeling and boat riding. The rooms are amazing: they are set in typical Arabic villas with wonderful details. Each villa has a private pool and it's such amazing weather outside. You can order a club car to go around the territory. Great spa.

My husband and I just had a week at Zighy Bay. While we enjoyed it and this is certainly a very good hotel, in our view it doesn't quite measure up to other hotels in its price peer group. It is in a stunning location, but our initial close up impression was disappointing. This is down to decor and comfort. You can take shabby chic too far to the point that it becomes plain old shabby. For instance, the sandstone bath and basins in our villa were very chipped and stained. The hand painted hot and cold signs everywhere look amateurish rather than charming. The furniture is chipped and slightly rickety. There isn't enough wardrobe space and the air conditioning in our villa was either glacial or tepid. The fabric of this hotel needs some serious consideration given the prices it charges.

In other ways, as witnessed by other reviews, the hotel is very good. The staff really are trained to try and do as much for you as they can for you. The food is good and the fresh vegetables and salad are really excellent. The Sense on the Edge restaurant is very good in a fantastic location. There is a wide variety of activities - although there didn't seem to be any yoga or pilates except individual sessions, which are expensive. We dived and although the dive school is small, it has well qualified staff and good gear and boats. Beware fair weather divers like us - at the end of February the water was still pretty cold at 24 degrees necessitating wet suit and warm underlayers for me - but we could have checked that out before we left home.

All in all a good place to go when Europe is cold with relatively short travel time, but we felt that the villas are badly in need of a face lift.

Room Tip: Nearer the sea the better

Dear Claire B

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on Trip Advisor following your recent visit to Six Senses Zighy Bay.

We are pleased to learn that you have enjoyed your stay with us and would like to thank you for all the positive recommendations you have made.

I appreciate your comments about the interior and the overall style of the Resort. We will certainly look at areas where we can perhaps review the style of signs and other details in the villas. The chipped furniture and is really not a reflection who we are and we will inspect and fix all pieces. You will be happy to know that we are replacing our air conditioning units in many of our villas and we will continue to carry out a regular maintenance program throughout the year.

Once again we thank you for your valuable time taken to post such a great review and for all the recommendations given.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon at Six Senses Zighy Bay in the not too distant future.

Kind regards,
