“A special location at a great price”

Our stay at lakeside villas began with a rocky start but ended up as an amazing family holiday with lots of memories made.
The villa is situated in Akkaya Valley which is extremely remote which was pretty daunting upon arrival as our driver drove us for miles up mountain after mountain. When we arrived the views were absolutely stunning and the grounds of the villa were immaculate. As it was August it was extremely hot in Turkey and when we entered the villa it was unbelievably warm and clammy. I immediately turned on all the air conditioning units and kept all doors closed to ensure the rooms were as cool as possible. Unfortunately our living room/dining room AC unit was broken which made it unbearable to sit in this shared area. We reported the fault immediately to the office but did have to spend two days without this and had to spend our time at the villa in the bedrooms. However, Irene did rectify this as soon as she could and sent an engineer to replace a part. When this was fixed it made such a difference to our holiday and the girls were able to watch a movie in the evening and eat dinner at the dining table.
Akkaya Valley has a small shop and garden restaurant with really nice food. We ate here on two of the evenings and had a lovely time. We HIGHLY recommend if you are to stay at Akkaya Valley a rental car is ESSENTIAL! You should also book this in advance and for the duration of your stay. We were unaware of this and for the first few days we felt a bit stranded and remote as the small shop was not sufficient to buy groceries for a family. We sourced a car rental company who did drive a car to us and picked it up again which was a relief as we were then able to explore the local area. With the car we were only 30 mins from Dalaman, Dalyan and Fethiye - all great seaside resorts with lots to do and see.
We booked a lake tour at the Akkaya Valley which was amazing! We had a private boat and were able to swim in the lake, fish and sunbathe with a delicious lunch included.
The villa pool was also fantastic and we only shared it with a few other villas and most of the time had it to ourselves.
I would definitely recommend the villa to friends and family and would return again but a car is ESSENTIAL!

The villa is part of a community of holiday villas with English speaking staff in the office within a few minutes walk, who are always on hand to deal with any faults which they usually do with utmost urgency. But they need to be made aware asap if any issues. Their contact details are provided both before the holiday and on villa noticeboard. The villa is a 30 minute car ride from the main airport/town of Dalaman (therefore not actually THAT remote). We have had many holidays there without a car because we just wanted to chill out in the "secret valley" and had no problem getting all groceries needed by a stop on route to the villa during the free airport transfer by minibus (this is advised to guests before holiday). Or using a taxi for an afternoon. On booking the villa, the owner provides an extensive list of advice including a very competitive car hire friend who will organise the car hire requirements by email before holiday if desired. There are also many things to do locally without car - pools, restaurant, childrens farm, massive countryside walks, lake tours, fishing, horse riding: all on site within 5 min walk. Also, please note the villa is extensively equipped for self catering - cooker, toaster microwave oven, all utensils, washing machine etc. !!! Again, please note: all info required for a comfortable stay is provided on an info sheet on booking: it is up to the holidaymaker to READ this and make use of it!!!

“Stunning location - a perfect getaway”

We recently returned from a wonderful 2 week stay at 33 Lakeside villas. We have 2 late teens and the villa was perfectly proportioned to give them each sufficient space to chill out and relax either together or on their own! The bedrooms are comfortable with plenty of storage and of course, the essential air conditioning (which we couldn't have managed without due to the temperatures hitting nearly 40 degrees during the daytime). Having 'made do' with kitchenettes on more holidays that we can remember, having the fully equipped kitchen with large fridge/freezer, microwave & full sized oven and hob, meant it was like home from home. The villa is right next to one of the beautiful pools which we had virtually to ourselves for much of the holiday. We really enjoyed the fact that it was a proper sized pool and not just a splash pool! The views from the villa were wonderful, with the glistening lake and the mountains...we never tired of it.

A short walk away is the Akkaya Garden restaurant which we frequented several times, enjoying excellent food and hospitality, and on a few visits we booked one of the tree top dining areas which was particularly memorable.

Hiring a car is pretty much essential to see the area & get to the shops to replenish supplies. We enjoyed a couple of booked trips: the Dalyan boat trip which was one of our favourite days, and the Jeep Safari, which was an experience! If you book the jeep safari, be prepared to get wet! We also travelled to the Sakklikent Gorge, Tlos & Gocek..as well as taking a trip to Caunos & Dalyan market, and the beaches at Sarigerme & Sarsala.

This was an amazing holiday, just perfect for our family & we would definitely recommend the villa to anyone looking for peace, quiet, rest and relaxation in an exceptionally beautiful and undeveloped corner away from the crowds.

On a final note, it is worth mentioning too that pick up and return to the airport is arranged by the villa owners which was so helpful and ensured a stress free arrival and departure - much appreciated!

The villa is beautiful had all amenities we required, very clean and comfortable. Balcony overlooked the mountains and lake great to wake up to. The pool very clean and quiet relaxing. Look out for wildlife on your travels (tortoise, wild bore) Definitely require a car as we recommend you visit local towns, markets and beaches. Staff and locals very helpful and friendly. Plenty of activities and trips, wished we booked extra week. We will definitely be booking again, perfect holiday.

We have just spend two weeks here and have had a fantastic time, lovely clean and well laid out villa right beside a very quiet pool.
Car hire opens up so many opportunities around this area which is just beautiful
Restaurant produces really different and very tasty meals at very good prices - Turkish breakfast is essential - Osman and his family run a very friendly and tight ship
Site management rep - Mehmet is always there to help out and nothing is too much trouble
