Review of Fiji Beachouse

A fine hotel… all of the basics are done well enough without being amazing. Clean rooms (ours had the outdoor toilet and shower).

The setting is nice as are the grounds.

The beach is ok but not ideal for swimming and the food options are limited so don’t stay too long.

My biggest issues were:

Staff scream at each other - from large distances - regularly. So your peace and relaxation is pierced by yelling.

When it isn’t yelling it is dogs barking and fighting. Or coveting your food at meal times.

The dogs are a nice touch and are mostly welcomed, but regular fighting is less than ideal.

Pro
Great atmosphere - nice mix of couple, families, travellers
Bruce surf instructor was great- lots of tips after each wave, reef was not that sharp and booties provided. Lessons were expensive- but we thought it was worth it
Great 3 hours of happy hour 4-7
Great value
Great location
Activities and outdoor gym/ yoga facilities
Good trips
Fantastic staff!! Very helpful! - and also great company for the rugby!
Food was great, and authentic!

Negatives
Breakfast was basic- but v nice to be included!!
Some rooms don’t have air con- we swapped rooms half way but didn’t have a problem with just a fan luckily

Overall:
Really enjoyed!! Can be as social, or not social as you want
Great place to chill, or lots of activities available!

Room tip: Public buses are cheap, but make sure you don’t get on during school pick up times… waited outside the school for 40 mins

The Beachouse offered a perfect experience for my old friend and I to meet - she living in Australia, me living in the U.S. The place was not luxurious. If that's what you're looking for, go to the Marriott. But the staff, Adi,
Rosa, Masi, Blix, Mali and the others were so warm and friendly contributing to making my stay extra pleasant. The meals were good with plenty of variety. Whatever you do, don't miss the 1-hour massage. Ova and her family are excellent masseuses. Vinaka.

Without a doubt the best place to stay in Fiji. Welcoming, warm, comfortable, peaceful and affordable. We stayed for 6 nights, then moved to another resort as they were booked out. Such a shame, I genuinely didn't want to leave. Very chilled vibe, and the staff are so friendly. I love that they bring their kids to work with them, my daughter had the best time making friends with them all. Heaps to do and the cost of any 'extra' activities goes straight into the locals' pockets which I appreciated. I smiled so much while I was there, I genuinely left with aching face muscles. The day trip to Yanuca Island is highly recommended - chilled, isolated island, and they saw turtles and dolphins on the trip. Only two things would make this place any better: a kettle in the room, and more choice/better food. You can't go wrong here - very highly recommend!

Room tip: Take snacks!

Don’t come here expecting a fancy resort, this is a 3-star resort. To its credit: the beach is beautiful, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and there was plenty of food at breakfast (even if some of the food was so-so). However, in our Hibiscus room, there was only 2 beds and 2 nightstands – no chest of drawers, no table and not even a chair in a spacious room. The ceiling fan had two speeds: fast and very fast (both noisy). Situated at the back of the resort, our room got a lot of road noise from trucks on the Queen’s Highway. WiFi access was an issue and the initial staff response to our questions was a bunch of finger pointing. Some of the common areas (e.g., TV room, bar) are well past their used-by date and need a refresh. We felt we paid a lot for what we got.

Room tip: Bring earplugs in case your room is in the back of the resort, near Queen's Highway.

Unbelievably wonderful hidden oasis. One of my favorite places on the planet. Andrew (owner) and son Cormac do an incredible job with keeping guests happy, fed and busy. And above all COMFORTABLE!

Best place to stay on the coral coast. The Beachhouse is the most amazing place to spend your Fijian getaway! Can’t say enough about this place
