The place is very nice. nicely designed and sitting right in front of the water. Canoe, Kayak and the trail around the cottage is really beautiful. The location is totally secluded from rest of the town. Need to drive 15 min to get out of the woods and see people. We had lots of fun and even tried to stay another extra day but we couldn't as it would mess up our other friend's schedule. It's a go-to place only if u wanna escape from all your mechanical life and just wanna be with the nature
We had the most incredible stay here. The pictures do not do the property justice - it is beautiful and fully equipped for self catering including coffee machine, two ovens, 5 burner stove top, washer and drier and barbecue on the deck plus fire pit. The children's bedroom has double bed sized bunk beds and a good supply of toys and games, there are good quality bath towels and swimming towels provided. Nothing was too much trouble for our host who made sure that there were fishing rods available for us to use and sledges as there was some late snow, in the warmer months there are also kayaks.
From the deck we saw bald eagles, beavers swimming in the river, a mink on the pontoon and a red fox crossing the frozen lake opposite. At times you can hear wolves from the nearby wildlife park howling which is very atmospheric. The property is secluded with only one other property in sight, and I imagine when the trees are in leaf that would not be visible. There is plenty of space to park, access to the river at the bottom of the spacious grassed yard with a fantastic pontoon for fishing off and a swimming floating pontoon in the summer.
There was a lovely welcome basket including a bottle of wine for the adults and some popcorn and maple syrup for the kids. Highly recommended place to stay
Communication was good and we had a relaxed check out.
