This was our 9th year of visiting Villa in the Vineyard!!
The new owners Nikki and Roberto gave us such a lovely welcome back to there new home with tea and delicious cakes which was such a lovely start to our holiday.
Roberto has worked so hard and produced the most amazing organic vegetables garden which he supplied us with daily delicious courgettes, cucumber, pears, the most wonderful spaghetti squash and my favourite fresh figs.
The gardens that surrounds the villa are such a pleasure to sit in to admire the stunning scenery with wonderful and tranquil views are beautiful with lovely trees for shade from the heat in the afternoon and the private pool is cool and refreshing to enjoy which warms up nicely in the afternoon with the sun.
Nikki has made the apartment so homely with beautiful bed linen and soft towels and the organic toiletries were so lovely to use on the skin. The welcome pack was very nicely put together with all your needs from fresh local produce sparkling wine from there own vineyard , fresh rye bread from the local bakers, eggs , milk butter tea , coffee and lovely fruit and vegetables from the garden which helps after our long journey not to rush out shopping.
We had a great evening with Roberto and Nikki with their neighbours Elizabetta and Gabrielle family and friends who held a professional pasta making with wine tasting. They produce the most amazing sparkling wines with the DOC award and sampling local regional speciality foods was one of our highlights of our holiday. The wine tasting is such an enjoyable evening to do with samples of local cuisine, and within walking distance!!
The local area has some amazing restaurants especially being so close to the Adriatic coast with fresh fish to enjoy with just a small drive away. But if you prefer meat , pasta , pizza or vegetarian there are some wonderful local regional alternatives within a few minutes away by car.
There is plenty historical towns and villages to explore locally, Offida and Ascoli Piceno are two of our favourites.Fermo is a must on every Thursday evening in July and August from early evening till midnight they have a wonderful antique market which has such a fantastic atmosphere and some wonderful items , just wish I had many cases to bring some lovely items home with me.
For a little further drive we had a lovely day out in Urbino with so much to see including the palace and the botanic gardens and the views from the parks over the town are amazing!!
Ancona old part of the town near the port visit makes a great day out to visit the cathedral with stunning views and some lovely shops for local regional products.
Pesaro is also a beautiful town to visit with a wonderful evening walk around the centre with some lovely shops and then followed by a stroll along the seafront and enjoy a nice evening meal with delicious fresh fish caught straight from the sea in front of you!!
There are plenty of supermarkets around Montelparo to accommodate your own food in a fantastic equiped kitchen at the villa if you fancy a lovely evening sitting on the patio enjoying the tranquil and stunning setting.
There are also some lovely gentle walks around Nikki and Roberto villa to enjoy especially through the vineyards to see the beautiful wild flowers that grow on Roberto land and to see the and hear the squirrels was a extra bonus for us!!
If you wish to do some hiking the Sibblinni mountains are ideal , a visit to the beautiful wild flowers is a wonderful way to combine this.
Lake fiestas is great for swimming in with mineral turquoise water and to have a picnic under the trees in the afternoon makes a perfect day out.
The position of the villa gives you so much opportunity to see and do some fantastic days out , a car is a must for exploring or you can spend some lovely leisurely time at the apartment resting and enjoying the facilities of the villa.
Nikki and Roberto are always available for great recommendations on places to eat and days out, but give you the privacy when sharing someone’s home is lovely.
What more can you ask for to have a wonderfully and enjoyable holiday which we do every year at Villa in the Vineyard.
We recently stayed at the Villa in the Vineyard on our honeymoon, along with our 12 month old daughter. Roberto and Nikki really could not do enough for us.
We were provided with a welcome pack which included sparkling wine, cereal, bread, fruit and milk; we had a brand new cot, high chair and paddling pool for our daughter; Roberto and Nikki were always on hand with handy travel tips for excursions; we were even invited into their apartment one evening for homemade stone baked pizza!
To top things off the property and location were wonderful which made for an unforgettable honeymoon!
I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa, set in the most amazing grounds with the best views and scenery. It is very remote, so a car definitely needed for the windy roads, but utterly picturesque! It was a very clean and modern space, and the pool was the perfect size to go for a dip and admire the views. There is also a pizza oven in the garden, which made a great dinner one of the nights. The hosts are brilliant and very welcoming, with plenty of advice to give about the area, as there are many little towns around to explore and enjoy. Would highly recommend!
Villa in the Vineyard is situated in a breathtaking mountainous location which is close to authentic Italian towns and to the coast. Waking up to sunshine and amazing views was what made my stay- it's a great place to relax and clear your head! The pool is great for cooling off in between sunbathing and it's not too deep so is suitable for kids. The facilities inside the villa were excellent and it was great to be provided with local wine from the vineyard, fresh bread and vegetables from the host's vegetable garden. We especially loved visiting Ascoli Piceno and spending a day on the beach at San Benedetto. It was such a fantastic trip and the hosts were very friendly and able to give us some great recommendations- I definitely plan on returning!
